21.01.2022 Thanks to our brothers and sisters at the Port Hedland Volunteer Fire and Rescue Service who we teamed up with tonight for some water draughting and pump training. Thanks also to the Town of Port Hedland in allowing us access to their facility to undertake the pumping. It is support such as this that allows us to train our members and expose them to a variety of situations and scenarios.
20.01.2022 While the Town of Port Hedland is on a Total Fire Ban spare a thought for our fellow Volunteers in NSW. Please remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity IMMEDIATELY as a fire in our region today will be difficult to control.

12.01.2022 This is a testament to all those involved, the victims who have lost so much, the emergency services volunteers and career personnel who have given up so much and to the wildlife and animals that have suffered so much, that despite the devastation and all the emotions that come with it, that we as a people, a race, a community come together to face it as a community far and wide.

12.01.2022 Volunteer Firefighters from Hedland Bushfire Brigade and Port Hedland Volunteer Fire and Rescue Service joined forces today to extinguish a fire that was impacting the Highway today. Our thanks to our compadres for the assist. However, the road users STILL DO NOT GET IT!!!!!!!! When there are firefighters in fire appliances working on the shoulders of the road with their RED and BLUE beacons flashing......... SLOW DOWN because we can tell you your local VOLUNTEE...R firefighters are not going to die from a virus......its going to be because a road user did NOT follow simple courtesy or the road rules. It will get to the point that firefighters will have NO other choice but to close the highway for their own safety. This is something that we ALWAYS do as a last resort NOT a FIRST resort. Cmon you lot, next time your approaching emergency services on the side of the road SLOW DOWN. Or better still join your local Bushfire Brigade and understand and experience why these rules are in place.

02.01.2022 Morning Hedlanders Following yesterdays fire which required our firies to work on or near the Great Northern Hwy, it was very DISAPPOINTING that our firies safety was compromised with a great many road users not following the SLOMO - SLOW DOWN AND MOVE OVER rule when approaching and passing emergency services. We want to get home to OUR families safely and YOU can assist us with that.... Sometimes its not possible to slow right down to 40km/h however a SIGNIFICANT reduction in speed is better than passing us at 100km/h. Especially when visibility was significantly reduced. Our thanks to those, especially the Quad Truck Drivers who DID the right thing.
