18.01.2022 21 Apr 17 - Holden EK 225-1-A ... It had been four and a half years since I had seen Holden No-1 EK & the Premier Prototype Holden EK. Wiped the dust off, freed the brakes up and gave the Holden No-1 & Managing Directors car a clean & polish. It was such a thrill to get reacquainted with one of the rarest Holden's ever! Steve Now away for another day ... hopefully not another 4 1/2 years!

17.01.2022 20 Apr 17 - Holden EK 225-1-A ... It had been four and a half years since I had seen Holden No-1 EK & the Premier Prototype Holden EK. Steve Cleaning done ... now on to the polishing ...

15.01.2022 The No-1 Holden EK 225 in Cataract grey and Garrison Grey came from a private museum in Melbourne, where it had sat since the early eighties. The cleanest most original Holden EK in known existence. A true Museum piece! One of Australian rarest and significant pieces of motoring history. Almost as it sat in the showroom, back on May 2nd 1961. Still smells new. ... 99% factory paint! With a splash on the lower front left hand guard, due to a hornets mud nest storing moisture and needing attention. I have finally found time to make a micro inspection on the No-1 after nearly ten years and found that 95% of the dated original components are dated from June 1960 to Dec 1960. This includes all glass 9-12/60 Starter motor 12/60 Generator 6/6, Radiator TBA, Gearbox 2/61, Headlights buckets 12/60, Regulator Box 9/60 Speedo 5/60 Wiper motor TBA, Coil 9/60 Many normal parts have ink stamps, pencil numbers or impressed numbers including inner guards. This would strongly support the No-1 was built in 1960 off the assembly line! Chassis is EK-2023-A ... I originally guessed, like most, who saw the chassis number that Adelaide were busy assembling Panel Vans for the launch. The number being 1022 chassis built suggested the chassis were stock pilled and early numbers were on the bottom and at the back. However, I have since discovered the EK No-1 chassis number was added to the EK after the car was assembled and was stamped into the factory painted black chassis. Possibly before the EK was offered for sale. I originally, at first glance, thought someone had added a silver powder to make the chassis number more visible, though, it was clean bare metal beaming back. The only number one Holden Australian built car to surface from the forties to the late sixties early seventies. This incredible Holden No1 EK is offered on behalf of Donna Jackson $225,000. 11.01.2022 Finally have taken some pics in recent weeks of the floor showing how clean and original this car is ... astounding!
