25.01.2022 'Thank you for cooking so we don't have to!' (I hear you, Betty!) On Friday, our Waterview community held an appreciation day for all general staff (all non-clinical staff ie: maintenance, cleaning, kitchen, service, admin etc.). Here are some of the message they sent.

24.01.2022 First Covid 19 vaccination day at Waterview. Here are some ladies waiting to receive their jab before heading to the observation room for tea and cake

24.01.2022 LEST WE FORGET Fig Tree Point’s beautiful Dawn reads a poem for Remembrance Day.

22.01.2022 Lisa York the Religious Education Coordinator (Acting) from Corpus Christian Primary school brought students to visit Bethel residents before Easter to deliver some cards they made and Easter eggs. Children always bring a smile the faces.

20.01.2022 Happy Christmas from Waterview at Teralba!

18.01.2022 So much fun, laughter, hope and love at the annual Waterview Santa Parade today

16.01.2022 Pat Hartcher at Fig Tree Point recently had a visit from her newest great-grandson Ted, and her grandson Nick.

15.01.2022 John from Figtree loves his Newcastle Knights! Amy recently took him to a game to cheer them on!

15.01.2022 Research says that stroking something soft and cuddly leads to a sense of wellbeing. Bethel residents certainly experienced a sense of joy when bunny rabbits came to visit recently

13.01.2022 For all family and friends: The Industry Code for Visiting Residential Aged Care Homes during COVID-19 has been updated (20 November 2020). It's worth a read and will explain the restrictions and measure our own ACF's have put in place in preparation for the coming festive season for the safety of all. The Code creates a nationally consistent approach that ensures residents can receive visitors while minimising the risk of spreading COVID-19, and was released by 13 aged care... peak bodies and consumer advocacy organisations with industry and public consultation. https://www.cota.org.au//11/Industry-Code-File-20112020.pdf

11.01.2022 Merry Christmas from Waterview

10.01.2022 Happy Halloween from the scary ghouls at Fig Tree point!

08.01.2022 PERFORMERS RETURN TO AMAROO As you can see from the beautiful pictures below, our residents were very happy to see their old friend Joel Howlett when he performed in September. (Through the window to be on the safe side.) In November our community will also welcome back another greatly-missed performer: Adam Price, who will be giving a concert through the window

07.01.2022 There's secret goings-on over at Waratah :-)

07.01.2022 COFFEE ON THE GO! Our Toronto residents have missed their café visits during COVID-19 restrictions, and so recently requested a visit from a mobile coffee van. What a bright idea! Our community members enjoyed their barista-made coffees so much, the van will be visiting Fig Tree Point on a regular basis to deliver delicious coffee treats.

05.01.2022 22,000 people from all over Australia recently joined in "The Big Christmas Sing-a-long" - including these members from our beautiful Waratah community over at Bethel!

05.01.2022 Happy 85th birthday to Amaroo's wonderful Luigi, who recently celebrated with family and friends.

03.01.2022 Halloween fun at Amaroo is such a great excuse to dress up! (Photos from last Friday)

03.01.2022 ON THE ROAD AGAIN Wow - eight months without a bus trip! As you can see from the photos below our Fig Tree Point community members were very happy to get out and about on the bus this month! The bus can't take quite as many people as we are still observing social distancing, and it's strictly sight-seeing tours at this stage (staying on the bus), but oh it was great to get out! So far residents have enjoyed trips to Newcastle, Kurri Kurri and Mt Sugarloaf, but we are looking forward to many more to come.

02.01.2022 One-hundred-and-one and still a dare devil! Back in September the lovely Jesse Collins from Waterview celebrated her 101st birthday by doing something she had always wanted to: jumping out of an airplane! Well it was a virtual jump, but no less exciting for that. Jessie loved the experience so much she followed it up with a virtual rollercoaster ride.

02.01.2022 There have been some big birthdays over the last month at Waterview - some so big we had to use our 'special circumstance' card to allow for gatherings of more than two visitors - but only outdoors!
