22.01.2022 SCHOOL’S OUT, Let’s Celebrate! Tomorrow is the last day of Term 3 and to celebrate all the wonderful work that each and every student has been doing over the last 10 weeks, the Student Leadership team will be putting on a little spread for everyone. We will be running a Free Dress Day and there will be a BBQ for both breaks. Students are encouraged to come to school in free dress (gold coin donation), and will be able to purchase sausages, soft drinks and ice-creams/icy poles outside H-Block at Recess and Lunch. To continue with the festivities, we will also be hosting our Futsal (indoor soccer) Grand Final, which will run in the gym at lunch time. This is sure to be an absolute nail biter, and students are encouraged to come along and watch the action unfold. School holidays are upon us, let’s celebrate in style!

10.01.2022 Athletes in Training Over the past 10 weeks, the Grade 9/10 Athlete Development class has been working extremely hard on their fitness, balance and coordination through a wide range of exercises. On Thursday the 10th September the class had an opportunity to put their training to the test and challenge themselves in a mat Pilates class which was run by KX Pilates instructor Kate Watts. The class giggled their way through the moves whilst finding muscle groups that needed a ...little extra attention. oh hey hamstrings! The students said they would rather do this class every week instead of all the running Mr. Cowlard makes them do, they also mentioned how keen they were to incorporate some of the stretches they learnt into their daily routine. A special mention must go out to Ms. Nowak who tested her own fitness and encouraged the group to push through the pain. Shout out to the following businesses for supporting this event; powered by @KXHobart fuelled by @FitEx connected by @gabrielleandangela

08.01.2022 Dear parents/carers of Huonville High School Please find attached an invitation for you to join the Huonville High School Senior Staff team and myself as we look to create a futures statement for the school that reflects the needs and aspirations of the whole Huon Valley community. As the key provider for Huon students in our area, Huonville High School offers a breadth and standard of programs that is reflective of a school that is big enough to make a difference, but small ...enough to know each and every one of our students and their needs, socially and emotionally as well as educationally. As we move into the future, it is through engaging with our community and understanding your expectations of the school that will enhance our ability to ensure every learner leaves as best prepared for their next steps as possible, whether that be on-going education or the workforce. Please join us on this journey, delayed due to the current global pandemic, but leaving us now with even more urgency to have a clearly defined purpose for how and why our school conducts business in preparing your children for an uncertain world. Yours sincerely, Geoff Williamson
