20.01.2022 CANCELLED : Lara Food and Wine Festival 2020 It is with heavy hearts that the organising committee of the Lara Food & Wine Festival have decided to cancel the 2020 festival on Sunday 22 March. We have based our decision on the growing concerns about the coronavirus (COVID-19). We have consulted with our major sponsors and considered the advice of local and national health authorities. We feel, in the interests of public safety, the best option is to unfortunately cancel the e...vent. We understand that many of our loyal festival goers will be disappointed, but this is the right decision. It is the support of our festival goes that has grown our festival over the years. Given the size of the event, we book our fabulous vendors, entertainment and infrastructure many months in advance, so unfortunately, it is not possible for us to reschedule. Together with our fabulous sponsors, whom we thank very much for their support, we do plan to put on a great festival again next year. Please mark your calendars for our 2021 Lara Food & Wine Festival on Sunday March 28, and we look forward to seeing you there. 17.01.2022 Whilst we have unfortunately had to cancel the festival, we are able to still run the Cheeselinks Cheese Champion Competition and the Hamstar of Lara Competition. There is still time to submit your cheese entries and be in the running for some great prizes $$$$. The award winners will be posted on the Facebook page after 22nd March and we contact the winners by telephone to arrange prize collection.

10.01.2022 C O N G R A T U L A T I O N S to the winners of our Cheeselinks Cheese Champion Competition! The overall Cheese Champion for 2020 is Ian Kost. Ians winning entry was a Camembert, which the judges called amazing. Ian also won the best fresh style cheese award, for his halloumi. Debbie Baldwin was also a multi-award winner. Debbies stilton won the blue cheese category, with the judges calling it lovely. Her gorgeous Lancashire cheese won the cheddar category and her gr...een pepper flavoured farmhouse cheese won the semi-hard category. David Urens beautiful alpine cheese won the hard cheese category. Congratulations to all the entrants. Janet from Cheeselinks said, the judges had a very difficult task selecting winners among some really amazing cheeses. Winning cheeses pictured.
