Posted @withregram @the_mothers_village When I had my babies (I have 3) we had plenty of visitors.. family, friends, aunties, uncles, work mates.. as lovely as it is having people who care about us and want to meet the latest edition.. there wasnt many of those people who offers to do things for me.. I was making the tea and coffee- or my husband- I was entertaining guests..one brilliant... friend handed some ready made meals from @mash_food with no strings attached just said heres your dinner.. that was the best thing anyone could do for us. Its hard to ask isnt it? A postnatal doula is the person who cone to your house, makes YOU the cup of tea, helps YOU, we love babies and totally want to hold and cuddle.. but we are there for you, bringing food, helping with baby, providing the ear when all you want to do is talk about how tired you are! January is the perfect time to stock up the freezer and use any gift vouchers you may have received over the festive period. ... Mash will once again be closing during Term 1 (February 1st - April 20th) whilst I travel to different parts of South Australia catering on school camps. 06.01.2022 IMPORTANT UPDATE Mash will be re-opening shortly with our first delivery back on Tuesday 31st March. Online ordering and an updated menu will be available from Wednesday 25th March. As most of you know, Mash has been closed for the past few months whilst I have been away catering on school camps.... Today was my final day for the foreseeable future. I know that so many people are doing it tough at the moment, but I wanted to take a moment to highlight the industry that I have worked in, in one form or another over the past fifteen years. Today I witnessed the biggest outdoor education provider in South Australia lay off the majority of their 80+ staff, including myself. An industry disappeared today. Not just the company I worked for, Wilderness Escape, but for numerous outdoor education providers across the country. We hope that this is temporary, but as of now, school camps have been cancelled indefinitely. The people that I have worked for are some of the hardest working people I know. With 14 hour days the norm, and being away from home week in week out with not too many complaints. The outdoor education industry is tough, demanding but also fun and exciting. We wouldnt want it any other way. Friday afternoons are usually a bustling hive of activity back at the warehouse as we pack away the gear and get ready for the next week. Today, with less than a dozen staff around, we packed the gear away, said our good byes with no real knowledge of when we will meet back again ready to head out on another school camp. I am one of the lucky ones, who has a small business, to start up again. But a lot of people dont have a job to go to on Monday morning. So now I shift my focus on how I can help my community. Accessing supplies, the need for self isolation along with the increase in fruit and veg prices has made our current climate difficult to say the least. Mash is here to help in any way that I can. This coming week, I will be busy sourcing supplies and cooking meals for the freezer. I will be adding these meals to the website as I go. I hope you can be patient and understanding during this time as there will be a limited menu. @ Mannum, South Australia
