12.01.2022 Saint Cloud salt, 1700-1710. This piece of porcelain is the earliest we have ever offered, and you’d be hard put to find an older piece of #EuropeanPorcelain! It could be as early as 1695, by which stage the #SaintCloud manufactory was producing small amounts of porcelain for sale. Awfully rare 320 years later.... you’ll see pieces in the bigger museums around the world. Our example has a scarce mark: a smiling sun face! 10.01.2022 Today’s #aRarityaDay on moorabool is a gorgeous #ChleseaPorcelain plate with these pairs of birds on the rim- and some really quirky critters scattered across the base, including a #caterpillar and a #ladybug! -and the colours are all warm autumn tones, very interesting & dramatic.
