24.01.2022 Game day. Before kick off today I wanted to do a special shout out to @danny Graham without whose help the MSL would not have any of the great artwork that we are so proud of. Danny put together our logo ( which is awesome), designed our MSL shirt, stuuby holder ( please pm me if you would like to order one) our flyers, and posters.

17.01.2022 Circumstances wont allow us to complete the final round and the finals as originally scheduled, and who knows when we might actually be able to play again.... So this message, with a tinge of regret and sadness, but also a whole lot of happiness and pride, is to announce that Masters Summer League edition 1 is officially over. A flood of emotions rise up as we write this, nearly all positive ones. What an honour to bring 100 men together each Saturday afternoon for casual, y...et keenly contested soccer, the way it is meant to be played, and the way that best suits the older player. A format was experimentally rolled out, and embraced unanimously. Men got to know men, both on their own teams, and on the rival teams, and shared a bond with them. Great football was played. Great goals were scored. Great contests were contested. A pleasingly small number of injuries occurred. Somehow, not a single draw resulted. But above all else.... our local Masters fraternity went from a group of rival clubs to one big family. We dont believe were being self interested when we declare it a great success. Im please to announce that due to our combined efforts, our nominated charity (Read the Play) and Michael Parker will receive a sum of $2000 to put towards mental health of men in the local area. This donation comes not from the league, but from all the players who played in it, as without it the league would be nothing. We should all consider it a great feather in our cap to achieve not only improved mental health within our group of players, but also the wider community. Presentation night, unfortunately, has been cancelled due to current wider community circumstances. The presentation of the cheque and other awards will occur soon and be posted to this page, and be sure to swing by the Elephant and Castle to show your support and appreciation to Mario Gregorio and his crew. And finally, the announcement youve all been waiting for....! Whilst we give a nod of congratulations to Limeburners FC for finishing top of the league... See below for the official winner of the Everitt Nelson Masters Summer League Cup for Season 1....

03.01.2022 Pitch Report week 1:

03.01.2022 All, due to circumstances out of our control weve had to scout around to find an alternative venue for the upcoming round as the ground at Geelong Rangers Soccer Club became unavailable. Thanks to the generosity of Mario Gregorio of Corio Soccer Club and The Elephant & Castle Hotel the round will go ahead as scheduled but at Corios home ground of Hume Reserve, which most of us will be familiar with. See attached map. The Batesford Hotel stands as our sponsor pub of the week... and we will show our appreciation by attending there post match for refreshments and banter! Again a big shout out to Mario Gregorio for his generosity towards our concept and our game in general and we can repay him with our custom on Grand Final Day (28th March) when the Elephant is our venue for post competition presentations and celebrations. And generally by buying him a beer and saying thank you. See you all Saturday with games as scheduled, but at Hume Reserve, and post match fellowship at the Batesford Hotel. See more
