22.01.2022 Police are seeking public assistance in identifying a man who may be able to assist with inquiries into an armed robbery in St Marys last week. Around 11.50am on Thursday (10 June 2021), Officers from Nepean Police Area Command were called to a telco store on the Great Western Highway, St Marys, after an employee was threatened with a knife. The man stole a number of mobile phones and fled the scene on foot, southbound on Sainsbury Street. The employee was uninjured. ... An investigation commenced and images of a man who may be able to assist with inquiries have been released. The man is described as being of Caucasian appearance and of medium build. He is depicted wearing a pale blue Nike hoodie, shorts, a hat and black Nike sneakers. 18.01.2022 Officers from Nepean Police Area Command are seeking community help as they investigate a number of steal from motor vehicle offences in the Cranebrook area late last month. Between 11:00pm on Friday 30th May 2021 and 3:00am on Saturday 29th May 2021, a number of parked cars were broken into on Farmview Drive, Eucalyptus Drive and Greygums Road, Cranebrook. Whilst the thieves targeted mostly cash and small items, a bag containing jewellery was taken from one of the vehicles.... Officers from Nepean Police Area Command have commenced an investigation into the thefts. Police have been told that the bag containing the jewellery might have been dumped in a reserve that runs from Farmview Drive, through to Greygums Road and onto Ironbark Drive Park, Cranebrook. Police have made several searches of the park but have been unable to locate the property. The jewellery has great sentimental value only to the owner, as it is from deceased family members. Police are asking members of the Cranebrook community if they have located the bag to hand it into Penrith Police Station, or alternatively contact Police and they will collect it. Anyone with information regarding the thefts from vehicles at Cranebrook is asked to Nepean Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

17.01.2022 Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a man wanted on an arrest warrant from the Nepean area. Kerrod Edwards, aged 29, is wanted by virtue of an... outstanding arrest warrant in relation to breaching an Apprehended Violence Order and bail conditions. He is described as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, 160cm 170cm tall and of a medium build. He has brown eyes, with a black hair and is unshaven. He’s known to frequent Penrith and Dubbo areas. Anyone who sees Kerrod is urged not to approach him but to instead call Triple Zero (000) immediately. The Bureau of Meteorology warns temperatures are generally expected to increase over the weekend. As the weather heats up, motorists are also reminded it’s not only an offence for children or pets to be left unattended in a vehicle, it can be deadly.... Everyone needs to take care in hot weather, but some people are at higher risk of heat illness, especially if they are older, live alone or are socially-isolated. 06.01.2022 Officers from Nepean Police Area Command are seeking help from the public as they investigate the theft of distinctive all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) from a business at Penrith in the past month. Between 12:00am on Saturday 22 May 2021 and 09:00am on Sunday 23 May 2021, three green and yellow John Deere all-terrain vehicles were stolen from Camden Street, Penrith.... A fourth ATV was also moved, but was located by police on the curb. Officers from Nepean Police Area Command commenced an investigation and found that one vehicle has been driven down Leland Street, where the other two have been driven down Borec Drive, Penrith. In a second incident, about 4:30am on Friday 4th June 2021, the same business was broken into and a fourth John Deere ATV was stolen. It was located a short time later, out of fuel on Andrews Road, Cranebrook. Investigations have revealed that a male wearing camouflage long pants and a black jumper, seen getting into a white Commodore, may be involved in this offence. Police have released descriptions of two men who might be able to assist with inquiries. The first man is described as being of large build, approximately 120 to 130kg, medium height, wearing a yellow high-viz jacket, wearing a man bag across his body. The second man is described as being of slender build, medium height, wearing all black jumper and pants. The third man is not further described. Anyone with information is asked to contact Nepean Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

06.01.2022 A man has been charged after a search of his Kingswood home allegedly revealed two firearms and over 2500 rounds of ammunition in various areas of the home. On Thursday 10 June 2021, officers from Nepean Police Area Command Proactive Crime Team executed a search warrant at a home on Plunkett Crescent, Kingswood. The occupant, a man, aged 30, was arrested after officers allegedly located a sawn-off .22 rifle and a replica Glock pistol that functions as a conducted electrical... device. Also seized was a large amount of ammunition, magazines, knuckle dusters, an amount of methylamphetamines, a hand-made stun gun and allegedly stolen property. The man was taken to Penrith Police Station where he was charged with 14 offences, including; two counts of supply prohibited drug, possess ammunition without holding a licence, possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit, possess unauthorised firearm, possess unregistered firearm prohibited firearm, not keep firearm safely prohibited firearm, possess unauthorised pistol, knowingly possess identity plate not on correct vehicle, goods in custody, knowingly deal with proceeds of crime, possess prescribed restricted substance, and drive conveyance taken without consent of owner. Police will conduct further inquiries in relation to the seized items. He was refused bail and will appear in Penrith Local Court today (Friday 11 June 2021).

03.01.2022 Three teenagers charged over alleged carjacking of food delivery driver St Clair Three teenagers will appear in court today charged over an alleged carjackin...g earlier this week. About 11.25pm on Monday (16 November 2020), a food delivery driver, aged 19, was driving his black Audi A4 when he stopped to make a delivery outside a home on The Grandstand, St Clair. After delivering the food, he was getting back into his car when he was allegedly approached by an unknown male armed with a knife. The armed male reached into the car and pulled him out while threatening him with the knife. The male allegedly got into the Audi and drove away, followed by a Ford Focus which inquiries revealed had been reported stolen from a home in Jordan Spring on Thursday 5 November 2020. Officers from Nepean Police Area Command attended, established a crime scene and commenced an investigation. Following inquiries, three teenage boys two aged 16 and one 14 were arrested by officers from Nepean’s Proactive Crime Team on Cox Avenue, Penrith, just after 3pm yesterday (Wednesday 18 November 2020). They were taken to Penrith Police Station, where the 16-year-old from Mt Druitt was charged with aggravated assault with intent to take/drive motor vehicle-armed with weapon, robbery armed with offensive weapon, two counts of goods in personal custody suspected being stolen, attempted dishonestly obtain property by deception and driver never licenced. A 16-year-old from Penrith was charged with dishonestly obtain property by deception, take and drive conveyance without consent of owner, robbery armed with offensive weapon, two counts of receiving, and never licenced person drive vehicle on road. The younger male was charged with robbery armed with offensive weapon. All three were refused bail to appear before a children’s court today (Thursday 19 November 2020). Both the Audi and Ford Focus have been recovered and will undergo further examination.
