25.01.2022 The incredibly well deserved recipient of our Sharon Kirby Memorial Encouragement award for outstanding improvement and dedication for 2020 is Susan Wilson on Midge. Susie got to take home a miniature version of our trophy to keep.

23.01.2022 Hi everyone, for those of you that aren’t sure about our September Club Day, I have attached a map as at 19th August 2020. If you live within the same mauve coloured area as Dubbo, ie Central West and Orana Region you are permitted to attend. Unfortunately there are a few of our lovely members that will be prohibited Regards Rachael

22.01.2022 Professional saddle fitter Paul Cairns is in Dubbo this Friday 4th September. Each fitting takes an hour where Paul fits with horse standing and then ridden at $100 for the fit check. Spots available from 9am to 12pm Paul will bring three demo saddles, PHS Stride Free Dressage saddles and two jump Stride Free PHS to demonstrate. Demo price also $100 and takes aprox one hour to trial saddles.... If you’re interested in booking a saddle fitting session with Paul, please contact Ruby on 0434 865 208 for further details.

Here is some info: What can I expect during a Performance Saddle Fits Fitting? Allow 1 - 1.5 hours per horse, be prepared to ride. Examination of your horse, standing and in motion Back and postural analysis static and dynamic History taking and discussion of physical and performance issues Examination of the Saddle Examination and analysis of the horse saddle combination How do they fit together and does this relate to any findings in the steps above. Static and dynamic assessment is included A ridden examination How does the saddle perform with the weight of the rider, horse examination under saddle and rider balance and positioning assessment Discussion of findings and an outline of the options to obtain an optimal fit Simple adjustments are possible on site, however all major work will need to be done in the workshop Plenty of opportunity to ask questions and for explanation and discussion Fee Schedule: - Fee is per horse and covers as many saddles as you would like me to assess INITIAL ASSESSMENT $150 - Average Duration 1.5 hours STANDARD - Follow up check $80 within 50km of Richmond NSW $110 all other areas Average Duration 20 - 60 mins SHORT - Follow up check (minimum call out fee inc saddle deliveries) $50 within 50km Richmond NSW $80 all other areas Average Duration 20 mins or less LONG - Follow up check $90 within 50km Richmond NSW $130 all other areas Average Duration 60 mins or more Fee's for trials and test riding of demo saddles are the same as the fee's outlined above. A full assessment of you and your horse is necessary whether we are test riding saddles or assessing the fit of a saddle that you provide. Repairs and adjustments to be quoted on site. Repair costs are dependant on time taken and materials used. Full re-flocks are $200 plus GST Simple adjustments can be carried out on site but major work needs to come back to the workshop.

13.01.2022 Our December Christmas Club Day draw has been emailed out. You can also find it available on our website. https://www.oranaequestrianclub.com/ All tests are in the Indoor area so everyone will be nice and shaded. If it gets extra hot I can turn the overhead sprinklers on you (just kidding or am I ) On completion of tests we will have lunch and drinks while Chris Hemsworth presents our leaderboard winners and runner ups whilst wearing nothing but a Santa hat Riders that... have entered have already paid for catering so all spectators are absolutely welcome to stay and can just fix me up their $10 at the club house. I’d really appreciate if you could reply to this email letting me know how many will be staying for lunch to give us an idea for catering numbers. Arena set up is at 9am NOT 10am on Saturday 5th December, the more helpers we get the quicker we can get out of the heat. Can’t wait to see you all Sunday for our final club day for 2020. 04.01.2022 Well what a wonderful end to our dressage year, we had so much fun today and what perfect weather apart from an abstract arena when we arrived this morning, courtesy of the wind last night. Thank you Sally and Lucy Chapman for reassembling it, we would have had some drunken horses if they had of tried to follow those letters. Congratulations to all our Leaderboard winners and runners up and again a massive thank you to our sponsors.
