23.01.2022 1 in 5 of us experience mental ill-health every year. Half of us will at some point in our lives. And all of us have a loved one, friend or colleague who is struggling.... 2020 has been incredibly difficult. Many of us have faced challenges with our mental health, and those of us with pre-existing conditions have suffered. Today marks World Mental Health Day, and the beginning of Mental Health Week. It's a chance to remind each other that we're not alone, and we can reach out for help when it gets tough. #MHW2020 #MentalHealthWeek #EveryPersonEveryCommunity #SAMentalHealthWeek #MHCSA #mindshareSA

22.01.2022 Perfect weather for a Boxing Day patrol at Moana Surf Life Saving Club with these legends! Thank you to all our Surf Life Savers volunteering on our beaches over summer!

22.01.2022 AXED: The Marshall Liberal Government has permanently axed the Adelaide 500. This is extremely disappointing for race fans, but also for the hotel and hospitality sector jobs that have got a boost from the event for the past 20 years. If there was temporary measures due to COVID that would be one thing, but a permanent cut of this event is a long term blow to our economy.

20.01.2022 Thank you to SA Pathology - thank goodness people power kept it in public hands.

19.01.2022 How good is this local legend? Mark Mills just ran his 15th OnkaStompa Fishing Comp raising a huge $55,000 for kids with cancer! Each event has helped Childhood Cancer Association and they have bestowed a special award to Mark that this is now their largest community fundraiser. ... I’m very proud to have been a sponsor for this event - as well as dozens of local businesses. It was the council’s event of the year this year. And it was an honour to present some of the awards this year. Thank you to Mark, all the volunteers, all the sponsors and all the fishos involved in this great event! 19.01.2022 Sad that the Old Noarlunga Lights are not happening this year, but thank you to the volunteers for their hard work and looking forward to next year!

19.01.2022 When it comes to medi hotels, we all want the same thing, a hotel quarantine system that works and keeps our State safe. I very much welcome the State Governmen...t taking up many of our suggestions, it’s a step in the right direction. Here’s my press conference about today’s announcement of the changes to medi-hotels.

19.01.2022 Tonight’s BBQ is dedicated to Joe and Kamala

18.01.2022 Happy 60th wedding anniversary to Keith and Gaenor from Seaford Meadows. Their first date was at the Warradale Drive-In Cinema in the late 50s and their first house at Marion long before the shops were built. Now they have a growing family of grandchildren and great-grandchildren all in the South. All my best wishes for your celebrations!

17.01.2022 I would like to acknowledge the significant policy shift from the State Government on Medi hotels today. After initially hearing the Premier respond rather neg...atively to my letter, I was concerned there’d be no change. The principle request I made to the Premier was for the current medi hotel system to be stopped until a safer solution is put in place. So I’d like to acknowledge the positive announcement today that the Government will not be recommencing the medi hotel system until some changes are made, which we all hope are the right ones. Here is the letter I wrote to the Premier on Saturday. I look forward to continuing to provide constructive support to Government during the Covid 19 pandemic.

17.01.2022 An important message from Professor Spurrier about masks

17.01.2022 This Remembrance Day held even greater special significance. Lt Olive Weston OAM was forever honoured on the Port Noarlunga Christies Beach RSL Honour Roll. Olive as an army nurse in World War II cared for countless wounded soldiers and was a respected member of the veteran community.... This was the first Remembrance Day in many years that Olive was not there at the RSL. Thank you to the RSL for their honour of Olive, and presenting her son Steve with a flag used in RSL ceremonies. An honour to be there with Katrine Hildyard MP, as we were at her funeral this week. Today we remember all our veterans, all those who have made the ultimate sacrifice and those who are still serving our country here and around the world. Lest we forget.

17.01.2022 Happy 50th wedding anniversary to Peter and Annette Ray of Seaford! A love that has lasted the test of time despite their rivalry over EPL (Peter = Arsenal and Annette = Chelsea) but common ground over their huge contribution previously to Noarlunga United Soccer Club. Enjoy your party this weekend with your family and friends.

09.01.2022 South Australia State Coordinator Grant Stevens strongly urges all people from South Australia contemplating or intending to travel to New South Wales today; or in the coming days, to very seriously consider whether that travel is essential.
