21.01.2022 NAIDOC WEEK This week playtime celebrated NAIDOC WEEK. This is a great opportunity to participate in a range of activities and to support the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community. Its one of the ways we can provoke learning in our children about diversity and cultures that make up our nation.

20.01.2022 Our constant positives.. here at Playtime Early Learning you will always find our ‘Home Corner.’ This is a space for children to embark on their own learning journey through play. This provides children the opportunity to participate in role playing, negotiate turn taking, communicate and exchange ideas through communication and to learn to solve obstacles. They are able to reflect back on past experiences and make more sense of their immediate world. We also can’t help but love all the food that is made each day.

19.01.2022 Happy Halloween! This week we have set up these amazing Sensory Cauldrons! Sensory buckets are a hands-on tool for children to explore their world through senses. Sensory play can calm, focus, and engage children. Children can improve fine motor skills through scooping, grasping, stirring, and pouring with a variety of tools.

14.01.2022 WE ALL BELONG The past week has been Reconciliation Week and at Playtime we have been discussing the meaning and importance of it. We have been reading dream time stories such as Tiddalick the Frog and The Rainbow Serpent. National Reconciliation Week is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.... More than a word. Reconciliation takes action 2021.

13.01.2022 On Tuesday we got a special surprise visit from Brooke the police woman and her beautiful dogs Henry & Orchi. The children were excited they got to hide things around the Playtime sand pit and the dogs were able to find them through smell! How amazing that the children get to have these experiences at Playtime! Thank you Brooke, Henry & Orchi!

12.01.2022 The past week we have had an alien making activity where the children use their creativity and imagination to build an alien of their own depiction! Using buttons, pom poms and pipe cleaners the creations are endless and it has been wonderful seeing where the children’s imagination can take them.

11.01.2022 What a hit today was! Today children were invited to come dressed in their favourite sport shirt. It was amazing to see such a variety of nations and sporting cultures represented, from Richmond and Geelong, to the LA Lakers, the Australian Cricket Team to the All Blacks and Scotland Soccer team all the way home to our very own South Mandurah Falcons & Waroona! Celebrating all different sports around the world. Children enjoyed discussing who they were supporting and even playing some games of football, basketball and soccer! Thank you for your fantastic efforts and participation! Don’t forget dress up week next week!

05.01.2022 R U OK? A question we should ask everyday, not just September 10th. One conversation started with are you okay? could save a life. It is important we always check in with our loved ones and make sure they’re okay. It is okay not to be okay! Playtime Educators handed out these delicious chocolates to parents this morning as a gentle reminder to always be compassionate and kind towards others, because the smallest thing can make someone’s day! We hope everyone is having a beautiful Thursday, and want to let all of our families know that we are always here for a chat if you need.

04.01.2022 Over the last few weeks we have been exploring all of the wonderful ways doctors and nurses help us! We have been busy playing in our dramatic play area where the children have loved helping and caring for our patients and booking appointments on the pretend phone and computers! Children have been focusing on developing their social and emotional wellbeing as they care for themselves and for others and discuss how we can make others feel better when they aren’t feeling well.

04.01.2022 Beep Beep! We have loved having some warmer weather this week, as we enjoy lots of outside play in our nature garden with our friends. Our wooden truck is one of our favourite things to climb up and down on when we are outside. During play, children are constantly developing gross motor, spatial awareness and balancing skills.

03.01.2022 This week we have dressed up in celebration of Book Week! Children have loved sharing their favourite books so far this week!
