06.01.2022 Today is the United Nations International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples. Aunty Millie Penny said at the Danjoo Koorliny Social Impact Festival summit this weekend, "In this COVID world crisis Noongar people know how to survive, we know the Noongar seasons, we know how to care for the land, we know how to live on the land. We know how to survive, we have been doing it for a long time." Danjoo Koorliny Social Impact Festivall's community event closes its summit today ...and as we reflect on the summit and this year's International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples, ‘COVID-19 and Indigenous Peoples’ resilience’, we are inspired by the Aboriginal-led festival and the invitation to #walktogether. #DanjooKoorliny #WalkingTogether #DanjooKoorliny2020 #InternationalDayoftheWorldsIndigenousPeoples #Noongar Centre for Social Impact The University of Western Australia
