23.01.2022 A great presentation by Melissa Primrose and Elizabeth English from Ambulance Victoria. Melissa and Elizabeth enlightened us on the various aspects of their work. It was evident from their presentation that both have a great passion for their work in the Ambulance Service. We are very fortunate to have dedicated people to look after us in times of need and emergencies.



22.01.2022 Former Rotary Student Exchange 2012-13, Mila Jakola from Finland, attended our meeting on 4th February. It was great to catch up on all her news. Mila is back in Australia on a University Scholarship Exchange in Sydney. We wish her well in her studies and for her future endeavours.

22.01.2022 New Years Day 2020 saw us on deck at Bunnings Warrnambool, running the first BBQ for the year. Pictured is the clean-up crew. A very pleasant day weather wise. Good sales, and good camaraderie.

21.01.2022 GUEST SPEAKER 19 June - Tania Moloney Tania spoke at Rotary in December 2017 about her program Nurture in Nature. Tania’s goal is to get children outdoors and into Nature. In June 2018 Tania informed us that she was going to seek funding from the Governments Pick my Project funding for a Nature Bus, to enhance her activities in teaching kids to enjoy and have fun outside. Tania was successful in her application, and last night she spoke of obtaining the Bus and equipping it for the programs she runs. The Bus was on hand for us to see and look through. 20.01.2022 Recently Assistant Governor Peter Liepins was our guest speaker. Peter is the Manager of Promptcare - Aged care at Home in Colac. Peter advised that as we get older and age effects are becoming visible, we should have some discussions on how this will affect us and be prepared to put plans in place for this period of our life. During the Meeting Rtn Jim Primrose PHF was presented with his 10 year service to Rotary certificate. (The Rotary Club of Terang resolved to present c...ertificates of achievement to current members who attained 10, 20, 30, 40 and possibly 50 years of Service on the anniversary of their induction. This recognition was implemented in 2005 the 100th year of Rotary International.The Club at that time planted 100 trees at the entrance to the Terang Cemetery to celebrate the centenary of Rotary.) 17.01.2022 Last weeks speaker was PP Don Treloar who spoke on his time as an Australian Rules Central Umpire. He umpired 212 games over 11 seasons. Don took us through game day from an umpire’s perspective. Don umpired in the Mt. Noorat, Heytesbury Mt. Noorat, Colac and District, Western Plains and Hampden Football Leagues. Don related a number of interesting comments heard from both players & spectators. Don is pictured in his Umpiring gear, (it still fits).

16.01.2022 Happy New Year to all our Followers The Terang Rotary Club is fortunate that our meeting venue allows us to display some of our items. Pictured is the Honour Board of Presidents of the Club since Charter in 1948. The board was constructed by one of our members.



15.01.2022 Current restrictions have curbed a lot of our activities, however, our fundraising project of propagating native trees, nurturing and preparing for sale later in the year is going well. Photo shows seedlings maturing and now being placed in pots. The second couple of photos are of recent Terang sunrise and sunset.

14.01.2022 Our Guest this week was Jamie Rowe, Unit Controller of the Terang SES. Jamie provided us with a general overview of SES activities. SES members are all volunteers, and our community is very fortunate to have people who are dedicated and committed to serving the community in this way.

14.01.2022 Our Guest Speaker on 9th April was Sharjeel Fraz, who has recently acquired the local Pharmacy. He spoke about moving from Pakistan to Australia at an early age, his education and his studies to obtain his Pharmacy degree, as well as his plans for the future. We were pleased that Sharjeel’s wife and son were able to attend our meeting with him. Sharjeel is pictured with President Don Treloar.

14.01.2022 Have been a little tardy in posting over the last few weeks. Some items of interest were our Melbourne Cup afternoon great fun over refreshments and listening to the race. Two working bees on the Walking/Cycling track were cancelled due to bad weather, however, members still enjoyed a BBQ

13.01.2022 Last meeting we welcomed back Charli Dillon on her return from Cambodia. Charli informed the club on the successful completion of the project of building a wash house at a school in Cambodia. Charli raised $3000 as well as having 350 toothbrushes donated by community members. We commend her on raising funds and then assisting as a volunteer in the project with the Head Heart & Hand Organisation. 13.01.2022 A great meeting last night where we had the pleasure of inducting 3 new members, Sharjeel Fraz and Maheen Khan, new owners of our Pharmacy, and Wayne Reicha PHF who re-joined our club.

11.01.2022 Chris O’Brien was our guest at the meeting of 6th August. Chris spoke to the Club on his childhood and his early years of work and the Businesses he has owned. Chris was a butcher by trade and after completing apprenticeship worked in a number of areas prior to purchasing a Butchery in high St Terang. A change of scene saw them running an ice creamery in Mornington before returning to Terang in 2002 and is our Local Newsagent. Chris is Pictured with President Geoff

09.01.2022 Last night we welcomed representatives from the Rotary Clubs of Camperdown and Cobden and our District Governor Roseanne Kava on her official visit. We enjoyed fellowship with our neighbouring clubs and with the DG and Assistant Governor Peter Liepins. 08.01.2022 Our last meeting was a social event with a difference. A course was eaten at each of the Terang Hotels. Soup Commercial, Mains the Middle and Desserts at the Wheatsheaf. A great night of food and social interaction. We thank the Three hotels for their assistance and great food and service. The club also presented two Young Achiever awards to Charli Dillon (Volunteering Cambodia) and Rachel Dickson attendee at the National Youth Science Forum 2019, academic and sporting achievements). 07.01.2022 Guest Speaker Meg Lenehan spoke to the club this week about her recent Study Tour to the Philippines. Meg is in her second year of her nursing degree. She experienced a variety of healthcare facilities as well as some sightseeing opportunities. A very impressive presentation. Meg also had family present to witness her presentation. 06.01.2022 Rotary Club of Terang held our Annual Changeover Dinner on Tuesday 2 July, where the club celebrates the past year and looks forward to the new Rotary year. Geoff Elford was inducted as the President of the Club for the 2019-20 Rotary Year. We have had a very good year in fundraising, supporting various local and international activities, seeking and sponsoring the youth of our community to attend the Rotary District & National programs. COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARD was presente...d to the Terang Country Womens Association, who provided considerable assistance during the devastating fires of 2018 in our district. Accepting award were Gabrielle O’Brien and Carolyn Emeny. CUSTOMER SERVICE AWARD was presented to Terang Country Bakery for outstanding Customer Service. 05.01.2022 This week was the 58th Terang Rotary Annual Bowls Day, held at the Terang Bowling Green. Conditions were near perfect. This is a major fundraising event primarily for our Youth Projects. 22 teams from around the district competed for the main prizes. We are very grateful for and thank the Terang Bowling Club for the use of their excellent facilities, as well as the many players who return every year. We also thank our sponsors The Terang Community Op Shop, Terang & District Co-op, Star Printing and Terang Country Bakery, your support is much appreciated. 05.01.2022 Last week was the Mini Golf group 6 Challenge at Cobden, this included the Challenge between Cobden & Terang. Congratulations Cobden on retaining the Trophy, we hope to regain this trophy next year.

01.01.2022 At our last meeting Guest Speaker Sally Buckland Terang Mortlake Health Services spoke on volunteering within our community, focusing on the L2P program.T.M.H.S. co-ordinate this program. The program is planned to help learner drivers to reach the set 120 hours of supervised driving that they need before they can get their Probationary Licence. The L2P program aims to help disadvantaged young people aged 16 -21, who have trouble getting a supervising driver or car. Sally is pictured with Brendan Williams and Don Treloar
