25.01.2022 Its so important to look after our mental health right now. This is a lovely simple way to feel more grounded if you are feeling a little up in the air at the moment - great for both children and adults.

23.01.2022 That's a wrap for 2019! What a wonderful year we have had together; our children, families, educators and friends put the "community" in to community. What a privilege to be a part of St Peters Community Preschool. Stay safe, be happy, spread the kindness.
22.01.2022 This week is Reconciliation Week and the theme this year is In this together. One of the ways we have recognised this important week at preschool is by making a banner with our hand prints overlapping to represent the way that we are all connected to each other (even if at the moment we arent always able to be physically close to each other). At its heart, reconciliation is about strengthening relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Ind...igenous peoples, for the benefit of all Australians - Reconciliation Australia Each day at St Peters, children and educators acknowledge Country in our morning meeting. We acknowledge and pay respect to the Gadigal people of the Eora nation, the traditional custodians of the land on which our preschool stands, and where we grow and learn together. We recognise our responsibility as early childhood educators in working towards reconciliation with the First Peoples of Australia. #NRW2020 #InThisTogether2020

17.01.2022 And the Bird Count begins. Every year we participate in the Aussie Backyard Bird Count - the children love walking around with the clipboards counting the birds - I wonder if the same bird is counted multiple times!

14.01.2022 Support children to grow strong, stay safe and remain courteous these holidays. Encourage them to offer a high five, a wave, a polite goodbye or thank you if they prefer not to hug or kiss relatives and family friends. (Image via Lulastic and the Hippyshake)

06.01.2022 Dear Families, we are expecting severe weather conditions tomorrow (Tuesday), High temperatures, strong winds and smoke haze. Rest assured we will monitor conditions and keep everyone safe. However if you have any concerns about your childs health/wellbeing its ok to keep them home for the day.
06.01.2022 Over the last few weeks we have seen some amazing creative constructions in our block area. Block play offers an open-ended, creative and valuable play and learning experience. It offers children freedom to explore, take apart and put back together any block-based creation they can think of. Here are a just a few of the mathematical concepts children are exploring as they create with blocks: helps children learn to understand concepts of length height weight and area; c...hildren predict cause and effect relationships (seeing how high they can build before the blocks fall); involves solving problems related to construction (building a bridge); leads children to make use of physical principles (making towers of blocks for balance, creating supported bridges); involves classifying and sorting objects by size, shape and function (placing blocks of the same size together).
