24.01.2022 Cinespace Inc. and Arts and Culture Maribyrnong are pleased to announce the very first 123 Film Competition to celebrate the work of indigenous, culturally an...d linguistically diverse filmmakers who live, work or study in the Maribyrnong City Area. We are seeking films that are shot in 1 location, with 2 actors or less and run for under 3 mins. Over $2,500 in cash and prizes up for grabs. 12.01.2022 SSFF 2020 UPDATE Greetings from SSFF. We hope you are well and looking forward to spring and lots of sunshine to banish those pesky germs away. Congrats for sticking the lockdown through and looking after yourself, your families, and the people who look after us. We are going to get through this. So, the SSFF update. We are going to have a Festival Screening at Village Cinemas as soon as we can.... The Festival was conceived as a social engagement project. It is about celebrating our collective lives and the collective community we live in and the spaces we inhabit. Online will not cut it, and we will not be reduced to a Zoom box in the corner of your screen. There is going to be a new reality in gathering in public spaces, at least in the short term, and we are going to have to learn to live with that. But it is going to be possible, and we are going to make it work. So what we are working towards with Village Cinemas is a number of SSFF festival screenings over a number of days stringently following safety regulations in place at the time. We know that there is going to be restricted seating in cinemas and limitations on audiences at any one screening. Each screening will be an event screening with giveaways and live entertainment (p.s. we are looking for sponsors!). As we are no longer just a short film festival and have a fantastic array of films of varying lengths from around the world for you, we are looking at a limited online festival for features/long shorts. All voting for the competition will happen online. When? We dont know yet, but given the most current indications we are realistically looking at around January 2021. We have extended the deadline for submission already and might consider extending them once more. We will let you know. Whatever format the Festival takes, it is going to be very different from previous festivals. This time, while we do have some local content, we have had dozens of submissions from around the world. The world meet Sunshine; Sunshine meet the world. Looking forward to it. Hope you are too.

Not because we need entries, we have had more entries than any other year but we are extending it because we are committing to an in-cinema experience. We will deliver the festival screening (a whole week of comedy films) as soon as we are able to. He has been active leading community development programs and under the name EZU he has been involved in dozens of theatre projects with Victorian College of the Arts, Multicultural Arts Victoria, Western Edge Youth Arts and Playback West. Ezs film and TV credits include "Sunshine" (SBS Australia), the documentary "Thrive" and the short films "Road.Dogs" and "The Last Supper" (staring Sami Obama).
