21.01.2022 Friday’s are for celebrating, so Wildflower Yoga will be pumping the tunes with a new playlist each Friday. 20.01.2022 Current VIC restrictions make in person classes challenging. That said, if your 5km radius overlaps with my 5km radius, I am more than happy to meet in a public outdoor space. Call or message me if this might be something you would like. The thing to remember however is that mask wearing is still required. We will see what comes with Step 3, however face masks may remain a feature of our outdoor exercise for some time. When breath is such a big part of our practice, it’s not ...ideal, but another part of our practice is to find ease in dis-ease, so it certainly should not be the only thing standing between you and a yoga class in todays world. Luckily for you and I, we still have live online classes available so that you can practice in your home, mask free. We have 24 live group classes each week to choose from, as well as more than 10 private classes (further times available when requested). If live classes are not for you, I encourage you to seek out some pre-recorded classes from your favourite local studios, or download an app to follow along with. My favourite apps are ‘Alo Moves’ and ‘Glo’. Namaste

19.01.2022 I had such a great day today, going live online with our first Wildflower Yogi’s. Seeing these beautiful girls in Savasana, at peace in the afternoon breeze, was heaven. I feel completely filled with joy and gratitude. In other news, our website was masterfully breached by someone obviously having a tough time. Sending them all of my best wishes as my IT Guru corrects the site and builds it stronger than ever. Rest assured, we save no customer data on the website. We use ...a seperate secure app, and then Stripe for payments. We’ll have the website up and going tomorrow, but in the meantime, I’ve popped the link to our booking app in the bio above if you are hoping to book in for a class this week. Simply download the app, search ‘Wildflower Yoga’ and you’ll be up and going in no time. (Don’t forget to use the promo code ‘LAUNCH’ for your free week of classes- no contracts). Hoping your day was as beautiful as mine was, Tash . . . . . #yoga #beginnersyoga #yogabeginner #onlineyoga #liveonlineyoga #yogaathome #yogadaily #yogaflow #wildfloweryoga #tambawildflower #yogamyth #mellowflow #vinyasaflow #powerflow #yinyoga

18.01.2022 Nope. If you can breathe, you can do yoga. . First of all, you ARE beautiful. Yes, you. BEA-U-TI-FUL. Second of all, I promise you are young enough for yoga.... . Yoga is for all ages. . Don’t believe me? Let me get all statistical for you. In the most recent survey of Yoga in Australia by Roy Morgan in 2016, the breakdown of participants by age was: 14-25 22% 25-34 28% 35-49 26% 50-64 19% 65+ 6% . A pretty fair even spread wouldn’t you agree? And Yoga has only grown demographically since then. . Cliché time: age is literally just a number. The number of cycles you’ve been blessed to circle the sun. Yep, our bodies mature over time, our abilities ebb and flow, but there is the perfect yoga flow for every body at any age. . Embrace your age and the body that has carried you to it. Connect to your body through your practice. Honour your body through your practice. Don’t let your number of cycles around the sun define what you do today. Put a line through that myth and take the leap to your local yoga studio (albeit online). Your Yoga Teacher has all of the loving kindness to support the perfect practice for your body; not your age. . If you can breath, you can do yoga. . See you on the mat! . . . . #yoga #beginnersyoga #yogabeginner #onlineyoga #liveonlineyoga #yogaathome #yogadaily #yogaflow #wildfloweryoga #tambawildflower #yogamyth #yogaage

18.01.2022 The story behind the bow takes us all the way back to a centuries old Hindu text, The Bhagavad Gita, and the conversation between Prince-Warrior Arjuna (our ego), and Lord Krishna (our higher consciousness), on the battlefields of Kurukshetra. Faced with the prospect of killing his own friends and family in the battle, Arjuna lays his bow on the earth and looks to Krishna for advice. What follows in The Gita is a 700 verse conversation between Arjuna and Krishna whereby Krish...na lays the path to spiritual awakening and life’s purpose. A great text that can be studied for a lifetime, by Hindus and Yogi’s alike. One of the messages from Krishna to Arjuna is about attachment. He tells Arjuna to accept struggle and happiness with the same detachment, as they come and go and like the waves on an ocean, with our purpose to find peace and nonattachment to either emotion. To simply find ease in existence, rather than a struggle to achieve a certain state. Dhanurasana finds our legs and torso becoming the body of the archers bow, and our arms the string. Bow Pose gives us the opportunity to apply Krishna’s lesson in our asana practice. We come into the pose with ease, letting go of our ego mind and the strive for a perfect result. We find openness in our upper spine and heart space, breathing into the pose, as we look to find the right balance between effort and ease, as the archer does with the strings of a bow. #yoga #beginnersyoga #yogabeginner #onlineyoga #liveonlineyoga #yogaathome #yogadaily #yogaflow #wildfloweryoga #tambawildflower #vinyasayoga #yinyoga #mellowflow #yogaquote #beyondthepose #asanastory

18.01.2022 Why am I here? What is my purpose? Big questions for a Monday morning! In Yoga, our dharma refers to the law of the universe, or our life’s purpose.... This is not just about career path. Our work is one facet of our being. And, to be in ones dharma in a working life for some will mean something very specific. For others, they will be in their Dharma no matter what ‘work’ they participate in. As long as they have work for their hands to do, they are in their flow. For some it will mean a life dedicated to a career with a higher purpose. When they realise this, they are in their flow. But dharma is more than simply our careers. Our work. Dharma is how we move through the world. Through our days. When we’re connected to ourselves and the universe. Our unique talents, interests, relationships. The way we connect to our flow with grace through the day. For many of us this means trial and error. We try allll the things in our search for our dharma. And what a great life of experiences you accumulate along the way. For many of us we slowly move through phases as we move through childhood, to study years, to working years, to family rearing years, and so on and so on. Our dharma changing with us. When you are next in your flow on the mat, when you have drawn your gaze inwards, when you feel ‘in the flow’, note this feeling. Remember this feeling. It is the same ‘flow’ you feel in your life off the mat when you are living your dharma. Your life’s purpose. Connected to yourself. Connected to the universe. When we are at peace and feel we are in the groove. At peace. This is unique for every single one of us. Because we are all unique. And if you don’t know your dharma yet, that’s okay. Be kind to yourself. Don’t strive hard. Slow down. Listen to yourself. Truly listen. You might hear the voice, and get so scared of your dharma that you quickly turn away. But try again. Slow down. Come to your breath. Try easy without judgement. Ask yourself, ‘If I had no obligations and expectations, how would I spend my days’? Maybe you’ll find your dharma hiding in there.

15.01.2022 Finishing touches on our signature jewellery line. ******** It’s been a long journey through floods, a pandemic, and Covid scares, but our artisans in Rajasthan, with the support of Not for Profit Group, Setu, have welcomed the work throughout. ... The current pandemic has been a roller coaster for us all in so many ways. For many of us, the roller coaster has included loss of work and financial pressures that some have never encountered. This is no different across the globe, including India. I am daily grateful to have the support and security we’re blessed with in Australia. For many across the globe, people do not have this. The work that SETU do in India to keep Villager’s in work, ensure community support and charity, and promote the timeless skills of artisans, overwhelms me with love and gratitude. All jewellery pieces that we design in Australia, are brought to life by the talented hands of our Indian artisans. Supporting them with ongoing work allows them to not only improve the lives of themselves and their immediate family, but ripples out into their village. Things such as quality education, healthcare and sanitation become accessible where it was not before. This important work has never been as important as it is now. ********* We can’t wait to share these beautiful pieces with you soon.

14.01.2022 If you can breath, you can do yoga. . . Okay, a regular Yoga practice will without fail improve your flexibility. We concede it’s true. Even for you. Yep, you. But, the truth is that flexibility is completely unnecessary. You don’t believe us because you’ve seen all of the pics of advanced Yogi’s in crazy poses, but most of us aren't born with 'Insta-Yogi' flexibility. Even most of our beautiful Insta-Yogis did not roll out of bed into a pretzel. They’re demonstrating advance...d poses as the result of a practice they have spent time on, they are proud of, and because they are fun. The truth is though, that flexibility is completely unnecessary to practice yoga. Twisting into a pretzel does not make your Yoga practice stronger than the Yogi next to you searching for their toes. . . Your body is serving you beautifully and perfectly just the way it is. If all it does today is carry you to your yoga mat to lay straight down on your back and close your eyes to connect with your breath, you’ve practiced Yoga. . . We want to be present in our own body, and move to our own range of motion. This will change at times in our practice, our week, and our lifetime. What does not change, is your connection to your breath. . . Besides, we're actually way more excited about the 'flexibility' of our mind rather than our limbs. How we bring the feeling of flexibility into our everyday lives off the mat. To master this would be an example of an advanced Yoga practice. . . So, don't let a silly little non essential thing like flexibility stop you from embracing or trying Yoga. Cross the myth from your ‘Reasons I Can’t Do Yoga’ list, and book a class now. Don’t wait for another potential myth to replace this one in your mind. Yoga has never been more accessible than now, so reach out to your local studio, talk to them about your nerves, and let them allay them. . . Remember, if you can breath, you can do yoga. . . . . #yoga #beginnersyoga #yogabeginner #onlineyoga #liveonlineyoga #yogaathome #yogadaily #yogaflow #wildfloweryoga #tambawildflower #yogamyth #yogaflexibility See more

14.01.2022 Yay I love Funky Friday Flows, bringing the fun, play and joy to our practice.

12.01.2022 We’re excited to announce that ‘Wildflower Yoga’ is joining the TW family in September. Originally designed for our travellers when on their adventures to India, 2020 had other plans for us all, so we’ve designed an exciting online live timetable of classes to bring straight to your home. Stay tuned for details of our launch workshop- ‘Yoga for Beginners’. #yoga #onlineyoga #yogaclass #beginnersyoga

12.01.2022 It’s been a big day of announcements here in VIC, and regardless of our views, the feelings around us, and for some of us, have been big. Feeling sad, out of control, at ease, forgotten, seen, anxious, nonplussed, scared, unmotivated, relieved, grateful; worried for ourselves, our community, communities across the world. I hope you took the time and space to feel them. But, I hope you also found some time to feel the sun on your face, air out your home with the perfect sprin...g breeze, connect with someone you love, remember the things that bring you joy. I know I did. I’ve had a break from my personal yoga asana practice over the last week or so, talking myself into reasons why I could put it off another day, another day. Telling myself other daily chores, ‘work’ or passions left no room for asana. And that’s ok. We don’t need forgiveness for being human. But, today I’m reminded of how integral it is for me. I’m reminded of how easily I meet myself on the mat. How I work out my kinks and focuses for the day, one pose at a time. The feeling of connectedness to myself and my world. So, I start my new week with a longing for my Yoga practice. The same anticipation of knowing you’ll see your love the next day. And, an excitement for the first Wildflower Yoga class. The launch of a new phase. A reminder of how life continues to move forward. A reminder of joy. I truly can’t wait to see you on the mat. . . . . #yoga #beginnersyoga #yogabeginner #onlineyoga #liveonlineyoga #yogaathome #yogadaily #yogaflow #vinyasayoga #mellowflow #yinyoga #poweryoga #wildfloweryoga #tambawildflower #yogaworkshop #yogacourse #yogastudio

11.01.2022 Our mothers truly are the change makers of our world. No one loves more, inspires more, works more, or gives hope more than you. Happy Mother’s Day to my mum, my mother-in-law, my auntie, my sisters, and all mums around the world today. We are in awe of you everyday, but give extra thanks to you today. Because you are, we are. Eternally.

09.01.2022 Please don’t let the shape or size of your tummy be the reason you don’t participate in yoga, or any part of life. YOU are ENOUGH exactly as you are today. Love your tummy for the amazing work it does to sustain you. Hiding beneath the surface is a system of organs carrying, absorbing and releasing energy. It’s working hard to love and nourish you day and night. Speak to yourself (and your tum) with compassion today.

09.01.2022 Nope. If you can breath, you can do yoga. Fact. Yoga was originally, and for thousands of years, practiced only by men. In today’s modern Australian Yoga studio, you will find classes dominated by women, but slowly slowly men are finding their way back to the practice, with classes having as many as 20% to 30% men on mats.... So what are some other myths that might be holding back our guys from getting into their Downward Facing Dog? Yoga isn’t competitive enough. It’s true we draw our attention inward to our own practice, and aren’t competing with others. But, that does not mean we don’t push our boundaries when we’re on the mat. Yoga is your own practice, and you can choose to practice in your own way, exploring the myriad of poses available to your body. I’m not flexible enough. See earlier myth buster. Flexibility is a side effect of Yoga, like muscles in weight lifting. Not a prerequisite to practice. Yoga’s too ‘new-agey’. If 5000 years of tradition is considered New Age, I guess I can’t disagree. It’s a bit ‘airy fairy’ or ‘spiritual’. Yoga is definitely a practice based in spirituality. But what you will find in most Yoga classes, is a practice very focused on the asana (poses), and the spirituality sometimes completely left out, or delivered in a non-threatening, take it or leave it manner. If you are there for the physical practice alone, you are not alone, and will still reap the bonus benefits of lowered stress and anxiety. Yoga isn’t a real work out. From the outside looking in, with the lack of fitness instructy commands and hyped up energy of a traditional fitness class or gym, it’s easy to see why we would assume that. But Yoga can be a full body workout, strengthening muscles, cardiovascular, and ultimately stability in movement, with a full body sweat. We all come to the mat for different reasons. Strength, balance, physical ailments, stress relief, flexibility, mobility, inner peace, grounding, spirituality, a new challenge, tight backs, hammies, hips and groins. And, each reason is as welcomed as the next. So guys, leave your Lycra tights in the cupboard or wear them with pride, and we’ll see you on the mat. See more

08.01.2022 From quarantine back in Australia, I’m going to finish posting our recent Indian trip adventures over the next few days, but I wanted to take a minute to shout out to our Australian Travel Agent, @sabrinacameron of Travel Mangers, for getting myself and my client home. Sab worked around the clock, literally, to firstly stay on top of all updates (as she does at all times whilst I’m travelling) and was the first one to communicate official reports to me and offer experienced ...and levelled advice. But then she worked tirelessly to get myself and my client home, effortlessly on my end. When the world is opened up to us again, I cannot stress enough the use of independent local travel agents. I know the internet makes bookings easy for individuals, but the use of agents costs no more to you, keeps them in an income, and you being looked after when things arise. I’m forever grateful to the support Sab gives my business, but never more than when I seated my client safe and sound on the last flight home and landed without drama in Melbourne. Thank you lovely travel super woman .

03.01.2022 We refer to our traditional yoga asana practice as ‘yang’, which focuses on our muscles, weight baring movement for bone strength, and mobility in movement. Yin yoga focuses on deep connective tissues- fascia, ligaments, and joints. Its very slow, not flowing through poses, but taking time to set up a pose, then holding it for at least 3 minutes. Whilst in yang asana, we might explore our full range of movement, activating our muscles, in Yin yoga we relax the muscles, and c...ome into a pose with minimal ‘stress’ (but not ‘stretch’), until we just feel the effect, and then stay there. We talk a lot about fascia in Yin, but what is it? It’s like the cling wrap that wraps around our muscles and bones. When it’s underused, we feel tight, when we gently stress it, it becomes longer and stronger. To find this loosening and release, the fascia requires at least 2 minutes in a pose, which is why we hold the poses for a longer length of time. Besides the traditional physical benefits of Yin yoga, it’s believed to open up blockages in the energy pathways of our body, in a similar manner to acupuncture. Whilst Yin yoga is not a replacement for your other important yoga asana practice, weight baring exercise or endurance exercise, it’s a beautiful accompaniment. But, if you just attend a Yin for the mindfulness, you would not be alone. The time set aside to simply come and sit still and connect to your breath, but with a bit more movement and release than a traditional mediation class, allows you an almost intermittent meditation. Think of several 3 to 5 minute meditations rather than a big 60 minutes which can be overwhelming to many new to mediation. Not only do you leave class feeling looser and freer in the body, but relaxed and peaceful in mind too. If you’re yet to try Yin yoga, I can’t suggest more emphatically to give it a go. Classes are as varied as the teachers that lead them. Teachers might lead and discuss different breathing techniques or chakra awareness, others will focus on anatomy or lean towards restorative yoga. Wherever you end up, whatever you take out if it, you’re guaranteed to leave the class nourished. See you on the mat
