23.01.2022 Back in the FG Falcon tonight to run in the Coo- ee- Cup at Gilgandra speedway . The Cartwright Racing crew have told us they are live feeding the racing so if you want to watch it just head over to there page, give it a like and keep an eye out for the videos . 21.01.2022 Chris took the FG falcon to Dubbo over the weekend for the 2nd attempt in running the SSA Street Stock division . After our disastrous 1st attempt in Moama we had done a lot of work and adjustments and were excited for another crack at it . 1st heat we start off the rear and 2 laps in we lost power steering . I could t believe our luck but we’re determined to continue but then noticed temp was going up fast so pulled the car in and retired the race knowing we bust off the ...pullie belt again . After all the work in the pits getting the car ready just in time for the 2 heat we were forced to miss the 2nd heat due to a small ignition issue lol . 3rd heat was cancelled due to nearing the 10.30 curfew so we’re going into the feature off the rear with 2 DNF under our belt and still no seat time in this FG . Feature lights go green and I’ve gotta say this FG was a rocket . About 5 laps in and we are in 2nd with a open track to just send it as 1st place was about a straights length infront . Started to really settle in and with about 6-7 laps to go I’ve noticed s few puffs of smoke coming from the bonnet , we’ve lost power steering again but fortunately this time we have busted a line and not the belt so we we able to continue . Not sure how but we’re we’re able to hold on and finish 2nd and drive the FG onto the trailer . I’ll be honest I was starting to lost faith and was kickin some rocks before this feature and although the car still had issues I had enough time to feel what this beast has to offer and man it was a weapon . We will take it back and hopefully start to put a reliable car on the track and get it reliable and comfortable with it . I’ve gotta say to that Dubbo did a awesome job putting on this meeting with a massive car count and delivered the best track to race on . We had a great weekend away with great company . 15.01.2022 Car Update ,,, absolutely shattered to say that this 81 commodore will be retired . The damage taken last night ay Goulburn is a lot worse in the daylight . 15.01.2022 Toowoomba results . First off I’d like to thank my Dad Charlie Louise Marino , brother Sam Marino , Paul Lynda Croker , Neil , Chris A , Ryan , Todd Polsen for all the work that went into the car this last week getting ready for Toowoomba , the Falcon was a absolute fucking weapon . Cheers to Ben Cartwright to for your help to brother . Also a big thanks to Wayne from Smooth Suspension for all your help . love your work man , to smooth . ... Put it on the to do list if you haven’t been to hi - tech oils Toowoomba speedway , MENTAL LITTLE TRACK . First heat started 5th finished 5th . Second heat started 11th finished 4th Third heat started 2nd finished 5th after being sent to the rear . Those results are putting the 81 Falcon out of 6th fir the feature . We had a awesome race and had some great battles that found us sitting 3rd towards the last few laps of the race but we were spun from behind coming into turn 1 by car behind and we were deemed at fault , we re assumed our position and grinded out the last few laps of the race and crossed the checkered flag in 2nd place . Our podium victory was short lived though due to being relighted to the rear of the field fir the incident that happened and I was deemed to have spun on my own . That’s racing I guess . ........ Although it was disappointing to get that call i can honestly say I’ve never been so happy to finish last . I was just so fucking happy with the car , I had a few beers after the race and just stood there looking at it like a kid lol . So much effort has gone into this car so the smiles were definitely over due but the size of the smile last night made it all worth it . 14.01.2022 We did it again . We have been crowned 2018/19 Western Sydney Street Stockers club champion last night at the club presentation . After winning the 2017/18 season our mission this season was to defend it and defend it we did . We also walked away with a 2nd place overall placing in the Western Sydney Street Stockers Country Series championship . 14.01.2022 We absolutely froze our ass off Last night at Cullen Bullen speedway . The new surface freshly down at Cullen Bullen speedway and the amount of rain they had there over the previous 24hours prior to the meeting turned the track into a mission for the drivers . The track was treacherous and picked up probably the biggest ruts I’ve ever driven on but they weren’t really aggressive on the cars . They would constantly straighten and unsettle the car and would wash off your speed ...but was a fairly soft ride . Every heat there was drivers coming from the rear to the front , from front to the rear , and so many position chances to go forward or backwards every lap and just a constant swap of positions , it was awesome . We scored strong points for the night and although we were awarded the feature winner for the night there was a mix up adding points and we actually finished in 2nd place behind Andrew Blackley 1st and Mitchell Duggan in 3rd . Unlucky to Sean Isherwood who drove from the rear to first position in heat 4 then ended up on the wrong side of a rut and went through the Cullen Bullen car wash ( 6inch of water sitting on the wall in turn 4 ) and drenched the crowd , took him back to the rear then he drove back to 3rd . Cheers again to Andrew Blackley for the last minute rescue with a pair of gloves . If anyone finds a black and orange LH glove on the m4 , it’s mine Looking for 2 crazy mo fos to join me to make a 3 car team in the next race derby . Cullen hosted the first derby race in the country and it was top shelf ( and I’m not even into derby ) . 06.01.2022 Gilgandra Coo-ee Cup Update . Things went from bad to worse in the FG for Chris Marino last night at gilgandra . 4x starts with 4x DNF (did not finish) and to top it off scratched the duco . We solved a few problems we were having witch is a plus but we have stumbled into a few new ones with fuel and overheating so back to the garage on a new mission .... Honestly this shits really taking its toll on confidence and so disheartening but we are not about to give up yet . That was our 3rd meeting in the FG since it was built so fingers crossed we fall into the trouble comes in 3’s category and our next run is going to be an enjoyable one . On a positive note we made it home safe and came home with 3kg of bacon . 02.01.2022 SSA street stock Twin Cities tour at Maryborough and Toowoomba was absolutely feral . Hit a kangaroo , hit a fox , Almost lost my thumb to a grinder , win on the pokies , questioned by the cops , blew up my mates gearbox I borrowed , Almost lost racecar off the trailer , seen the underground lab with my own eyes , ripped off my mates muffler so his commodore sounds more hectic then his misses one and that’s just the start but most of all explored never before seen territory... in this beautiful country of ours and had a mad time with some great people . My Mum said to me before I left that my uncle Greg was born in Maryborough so I said I’m doing this one for Uncle Greg Maryborough was the first round of twin cities . First heat started 6th finished 1st . Second heat started 2nd finished 1st . Third heat started 6th finished 3rd . This put us up on 2nd place for the feature alongside the current Queensland #1 . Had a cracking race and ran 2nd from flag to flag . The next night of twin cities round 2 and final round was Toowoomba . First Heat started 8th finished 4th Second heat started 2nd finished 2nd With a 4th place start in the feature this puts us in a awesome chance to podium twin city with carry over points from the night before . Ran a awesome race in the feature, running 3rd place with 2laps to go and the fucking gearbox I had on lend blew up . 02.01.2022 Kingaroy QLD title results , Grid draws were 1st heat out of 1 2nd heat out of 7 ... 3rd heat out of 7 First heat we started 1st , didn’t get off the line well and ended up running 2nd for the hole race until the gearbox dropped the gears on the last lap , ended up rolling round to finish up with 8th . Our night was over for sure we thought but big man Shane Roycroft saved the day with his spare gearbox I owe a shit load of beers to Adz Berkey , Suba and Johno Crown from the Thompson crew for smashing the box in and getting us going again . Missed the 2nd heat . Just made the 3rd heat and we started out of 5th due to other cars out . Sent it round the outside to 2nd then snatched the lead on the last lap, a awesome switch back by the #88 car put us back to 2nd and that where we crossed the checkers . This puts us in 5th fir the 20lap B-main with top 6 cars transferring to the back of the A-main . The first B-main I’ve ever been in and wow it was mental . Awesome racing with positions swapping back and forth every lap was just insane . Just started to get settled and the gearbox starts falling out of gear mid turn , I was also religated 2spots for a stupid mistake of my own for passing before the cone On one of the yellows and luckily finished 4th so was very lucky to make the A-main . That placed us a 22nd position start in the40 lap A-main field of 24 cars . This was a wild race Paced ourself and drove smarter in the feature and managed to climb our way to cross the checkered flag in the QLD street stock title in 8th place . By the end of the night I was absolutely exhausted and disappointed but after sleeping on it woke up this morning pretty proud with how we finished and represented our team . Car was pretty sore to by the look of her . And I can say by the pics of the tyres that I drove the wheels off it . Thanks for all the messages amd good lucks over the day .
