25.01.2022 It’s all in the eyes We’ve enjoyed having Archipelago Productions and Blue Cow Theatre in our loft over the past few weeks. And though the drama is clear in these photos, there has also been a lot of laughter floating down the stairs from ‘The Bleeding Tree’ rehearsals. A good sign of a great ensemble performance to come.
24.01.2022 We’re sad Sydney-based playwright Finn O’Branagain can’t be here in person for the creative development of her play Scaredy Cat, but we love her big screen presence as a plan-b.
23.01.2022 You can’t stop the music We’re looking forward to the return of MONA FOMA in Hobart and Launceston in January.
23.01.2022 Throwback Thursday. Jennifer Davidson founded Terrapin in 1981 (stay tuned for our 40th next year). These puppets were made by Jennifer in the early 1960's and have recently joined our collection after being kindly donated by a family friend of Jennifer's, Jane Williams, from Wellington, NZ. The small dragon is called Fifi and the large one is Sylvester. They are carved wood and paper mâché. Fifi’s curls are made from the insides of a clock. Sylvester’s eyes are made from Jennifer’s son’s car toy wheels. #tbt

21.01.2022 Junction Arts Festival is one of our favourite events in the north of Tasmania, supporting local artists and audiences through great programming and community engagement. They are currently seeking expressions of interest from potential board members with experience in finance, marketing, arts practice, events, business or stakeholder engagement (government, private enterprise, community, arts and creative industries).
19.01.2022 Hey square-eyes, did you know TV came to Australia in 1956 but didn't get to Tasmania's remote west coast until 1965? Now in 2020, The Unconformity are live- streaming their own experimental TV transmission from the deep west on October 17.
17.01.2022 Feeling very lucky that super-talented puppet maker Bryony Anderson is rejoining the Terrapin fold in 2021. Read more about her unique practice and principles in this AussieTheatre.com interview.

15.01.2022 Reaching children in schools all across Tasmania, from Flinders Island on the Bass Strait to Zeehan on the West Coast is so important to all of us at Terrapin. This report by the Australia Council and The Sydney Opera House confirms just how important creativity in schools is in shaping citizens of the future.

14.01.2022 Welcome home Pierre . After 35 years travelling the world, Pierre has returned to Tasmania courtesy of Sheila Duncan. Pierre was made for Sheila by Jennifer Davidson and Greg Methe after Sheila returned from studying theatre in France in the mid eighties. Inspired by Jane Williams gift of some other puppets made by Jennifer, Sheila decided it was time for Pierre to leave his home in Scotland to return to his beloved home. We're thrilled to have him back.
