19.01.2022 If you don't get your butts in here today- it will be our last Saturday!! Maclean is a sleepy little town on Saturdays, so we will be changing our hours unless today proves otherwise. On the other hand- if i were you, i too would be basking in this glorious sun, frolicking in the garden and taking in the magic of the spring air.. Whatever you are doing today- do it with a smile. 18.01.2022 So we have made the decision to no longer open Saturdays, which may not be a permanent change- but for the minute we feel its the right thing to do. This also may mean that we end up doing a Monday instead- But for now, opening hours stand as Tues -Fri 7.30 - 4pm. Happy Days x

18.01.2022 The Happy Belly is for sale- Selling due to family obligations- We don't want to see the cafe close down. For the right person- there is a wonderful opportunity with everything you need to be fully operational. With the holidays coming up it would be a great time to take on what we have created as make it your own. There is great interest expressed in the town for a bulk foods/health food business and this is something that could be easily incorporated into the happy belly. ...$10,000 non-negotiable. Very reasonable price compared to set-up costs with low rent and overheads. Please share to help keep our vision of a more wholesome and spirited Maclean alive...

16.01.2022 THE HAPPY BELLY NEEDS A NEW CARER..... With great sadness I have arrived at the decision that I can no longer manage our beautiful and much loved cafe. We started out completely inexperienced and open-hearted and over the past months have learned a great deal about business, hospitality, community and hard-work but more importantly, about life- and family, and priorities. You have probably heard that the ever-loved Damo is unwell and needs my love and care a great deal at the... moment. Of course he is going to get better, but at this stage, we don't know when, and right now- his healing is our main focus. We felt initially that our young family could be worked around the Happy belly- but the truth is, the Happy Belly needs to work around our young family- and this leaves the cafe without the true love and dedication it deserves. DO YOU HAVE The time to offer our creation THE TRUE LOVE and DEDICATION it deserves?? The Happy Belly has great potential and the most lovely, beautiful following of regular members of our community. It really is a blank canvas for you to fill however your soul desires. Obviously, having only operated for 6 months, we don't have a "business" as such to sell, so we ask only a small amount for the space and equipment- or we could look into the possibility of a lease. This would be a great community project if there were a few willing to take it on and work together in creating a space for arts, education, music, health and community issues and values. (All the things i dreamed of and thought i was super-human enough to achieve!!) In the mean time, the Happy Belly will be operating as usual, with the possibility of extending our days to Mondays- But of course we will keep you posted. I really do believe in The Happy Belly and hopefully there is someone out there for whom it could be a perfect match. Please don't hesitate to message me for details or to ask any questions, even if it seems silly. We are very open to ideas and suggestions to make the Happy Belly wonderful, and life even greater! 11.01.2022 We are shipping out and have quite a few bits and bobs for sale. I'll be posting them here and on Yamba buy swap sell... If anyone is interested in making an offer on anything let me know. We have in these pics our fab rustic corner table $130... dining table and 6 chairs ( newly restored but chairs need a little glue) $180. belling oven with 3 separate ovens and includes belling rangehood (price undecided) large stainless bench $350 - all items in storage and can get specs and dimensions etc as requested. We also have a commercial dishwasher either for sale or to take over lease until June- a great bargain as we have already paid half- happy to give details or have a chat if anyone is interested. Will give more pics and details when I go to storage shed next. Happy new year everyone!!!!

06.01.2022 Hey ho... We are taking a break for a week and having a family holiday to catch our breath. Helen and Michelle will very competently be serving up the happy goodness from Wednesday to Friday next week but we will be closed Tuesday... And we have new opening hours of 9-3 to fit in with our little ones cos we think they are pretty darned special. Have a wonderful weekend and love the ones you are with xx

05.01.2022 Yes, we have officially closed our doors. And hopefully it won't be too long before someone opens them again! We would like to thank you all for your love and support and friendship. The kindness and compassion shared by our amazing patrons is overwhelming. It has been so lovely having you! Here's to health and happy days- the truly important things.
