16.01.2022 This is one of the plants I'm most asked about in the garden... Grown from a hybrid I produced in 2013-14, T. peruvianus 'Sharxx Blue x T. pachanoi 'Rod'. There... were some interesting phenotypes in this cross but this one took the cake. New spines are orange to red turning black with age and deep defined ribs that almost have a Cereus look. I can't be sure that bees didn't interfere either as it was before I started bagging flowers. I've decided to give this one a clone name (seems worthy) 'Ruby-Jean'(name edit) with the help of my fiancé Olive Lamotte. :) See more
