25.01.2022 Over recent weeks Winton has gone from Social distancing, isolation, mask wearing and temperature checking to now this! We got through some challenging times with thanks to our Regional friends and we will be forever thankful to them for their support. We have quickly recovered with on track action and that continues today! Our comeback continues today with the amazing crew from Drift Cadet. Drift Cadet are regular visitors to our venue, generally on the skid pan. Today though, they are really unleashing what they have available and making the most of what has turned out to be a great day. Despite an amazing 20mm of rain in 11 minutes earlier today, the track, and the facilities dried out incredibly quick to make sure that there was a lot of sideways action!!.

22.01.2022 We have to always remember that motor racing is dangerous and not just take what we have for granted. We also have to remember and thank those who volunteer their time and rush into places that others run away from. Amazing images from the Bahrain Formula One Grand Prix overnight highlight the work that fire and recovery teams, not just here, but at all tracks around the world do in an instant without warning. We don't need to show you the crash, just the reaction.... https://streamable.com/3u3yn9

18.01.2022 Here at Winton Raceway we are really lucky to have the best drifters in Victoria, and Australia come to visit us and use our amazing track for drifting. Our long time friends at Drift Cadet, VicDrift and Hi-Tec Drift Australia all regularly use what we have to offer. Today though we welcomed Keep it Reet to our venue to show us what they have to offer. The temperature was high on, and off, the road. With our drift pad already being booked well in advance, Winton Raceway surely is becoming the home of quality drifiting.

14.01.2022 1961 was an important year internationally, the first man, Yuri Gagarin went into space and Robert Menzies was the Prime Minister of Australia. Breakfast at Tiffanys was one of the movies of the year and you could buy a loaf of bread for the equivalent of 21 cents. Bob Jane and Harry Firth won Bathurst and Phil Hill was the Formula One World Champion in a Ferrari. 1961 was also the year that Winton Raceway begun its journey. A journey that has reached its 60th year in 2021.... What a ride it has been so far. In the first part of a series we look at how it all began on the 26th of November 1961. Following two years of concerted efforts and hard work by many, the first race meeting was held at Australia's newest track. The combined efforts of a small but enthusiastic group of members boasted almost 100 cars in a 24 event program. An amazing 6000 spectators welcomed the days events. With scrutineering beginning at 8:30 and practice starting at 9:30 it was a full day of race activity. A race in 1961 generally consisted of just 4 laps with the occasional feature race being 6 - 8 laps. The official opening by local politician Mr Keith Bradbury took place at 2:00pm. After what was a hectic day, and the dust had settled the club treasurer estimated that the track construction had cost a grand total of $9000. An incredible result that transformed into an amazing future. See more

09.01.2022 Ouch... As can be seen we have just received an email today from the Victorian State Government advising us that the event that was scheduled for the 24th of January 2021 has now been POSTPONED. There are now no Tier 1 or 2 events allowed for the month of January. The event will now be taking place on Saturday the 24th of April 2021. By then vaccines will be available and the country will be in a more secure place.... For the many that have registered, you can either have your entry automatically roll over to the new event, or, if you can't attend, receive a full refund. Please advise us via email at [email protected] of your intentions. We are deeply sorry if this has caused any inconvenience. Be in no doubt that this still promises to be an outstanding event and we will be sure that everything is ready to go when we are allowed. If there are any other questions or comments feel free to share them so that we can reply in good time. Please be aware that this in no way affects the other events that we are hosting at Winton Raceway... Just this one..... See more

03.01.2022 Well this is exciting! Winton Raceway in conjunction with the Benalla Auto Club Inc (BAC) brings you a first by introducing a last. The Holden Last Lap is a tribute to the golden age of Australian Motoring where we didn't just drive cars, we made them. After the sad news in February 2020 that the Holden brand would no longer be a part of our future, we here at Winton Raceway did not want the history to be forgotten. With that we want YOU to showcase what you have, and your re...lationship with the General. We want a sea of Red here at Winton Raceway during the Australia Day weekend for a Show and Shine. We offer just that bit more though. You can drive your car during parade laps on our ever improving circuit. This is a first for us of what will be an annual event. To find out more, and to register your interest head to https://holdenlastlap.com.au/ For all the latest be sure to head over to the Holden Last Lap Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/Holden-Last-Lap-102113785023547 See more

03.01.2022 Winton’s great weekend of drifting continues today with both Drift Cadet and Keep it Reet here all day. Tomorrow is our last Repco Fun Day of the year so why not get out of the house and down to the track for the day.

02.01.2022 Things look like they are changing for those coming from the North to get access to Winton Raceway. Bowers Road is permanently closing as of the 30th of this month meaning that you can no longer get to Winton using this access road that gets you here easier. If you are coming from our Northern areas you have two choices now. First is to go through the Glenrowan Township, approximately 9 kilometers to the North. Second, and probably better is to drive past the previous... entry up to the Benalla Overpass which is approximately five kilometers to the South. Turn left there and follow it to where the Nations Action track is. We apologise if this causes inconvenience, however, it is not something in our control. If there are any questions about the works that are being done, please contact the RRV hotline on 133778. See more
