All survey responses will compiled by disaster recovery expert Anne Leadbeater who will put together a report for council. 24.01.2022 Work is under way for the upgrade of the Tahmoor Sportsground to a District level Sporting Complex. Stage 1 of the adopted Master Plan will deliver: Relocation of the netball courts, athletics and cricket field Construction of the first floor of a new centrally located multi-purpose amenities facility ... New entrance works including a drop off turning circle. The project is funded under the Western Parkland City Liveability Program, providing essential community infrastructure. 23.01.2022 Based on input from the community, we have developed a master plan for the Picton Botanic Gardens Precinct which is now available for comment on the Your Say Wollondilly website https://www.yoursay.wollondilly.nsw.gov.au/ The plan is for the area including Hume Oval, Picton Sportsground, RSL Park, Racecourse Creek and Stonequarry Creek pathways and Picton Botanic Gardens. Consultation closes 1 February 2021.

22.01.2022 Following the confirmation from NSW Health of a new case of Covid-19 in the Bargo area, Wollondilly Council is urging locals to get tested. A pop-up clinic for testing is open from today at Bargo Community Hall, 96 Radnor Road from 9am to 5.30pm. It is a walk-in clinic for any age and no GP referral is required. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the nursery will open between 10am and 12pm by appointment only. After being closed for many months due to Covid-19, we are happy to announce that our trusted volunteers have returned to tend to the needs of our many native seedlings and we have many plant species available for our residents.... 15.01.2022 Wollondilly Council is partnering with Rotary Club of Wollondilly North Inc. to deliver a project for young people in the Wollondilly area who have been affected by the Green Wattle Creek bushfire event. Two free workshops will be held at the Cataract Scout Park in Appin. The workshops will involve fun outdoor activities including archery and an obstacle course, interactive sessions with the NSW Rural Fire Service and the production of a short film. 12.01.2022 Council's Works and Parks teams planted the new Illawarra Flame trees today at Picton Memorial Park, with the garden soon to be completed. These were replacements for the eucalypts that had been planted as memorial trees for our returned services. The eucalypts were removed recently as they were becoming a safety hazard due to a decline in health. This investigation is part of the Outer Sydney Orbital Stage 2, which will provide for a future road connecting new housing developments, and employment growth anticipated for the area. 05.01.2022 Wollondilly Neighbourhood Occasional Care is taking enrolments now for 2021. Do you have an appointment, study or work part time or just need a break? Wollondilly Neighbourhood Occasional Care supports families by providing flexible care, either regularly or casually, for children from birth to school age. The qualified staff offer a caring and friendly early childhood learning environment as well as a school readiness program. Bookings are taken on an hourly basis and are ma...de up to one week in advance. Casual bookings are paid for on the day of use, at an affordable cost. Wollondilly Neighbourhood Occasional Care meets the needs of families in the community by providing care for parents who may have appointments, go shopping or to the gym, study, work part time, do shift work or just need a break while your child socialises and interacts with other children. Wollondilly Neighbourhood Occasional Care operates from 10am 2:30pm on Monday, Thursday and Friday (school terms only) and is located in the Children’s Services Cottage, 66 Menangle St, Picton. 02.01.2022 Thank you to the State Government, Coles and TOMRA for supporting an additional Return & Earn Facility in Wollondilly. This one is in the Coles car park in Picton. Return and Earn is a great way to earn some pocket money and also to recover recyclable materials. Sorting waste at the beginning of the waste process makes it easier for reprocessing, cost wise and environmentally. Re-using products means we can rely less on raw materials and reduce landfilling. 01.01.2022 Bargo Hotel has been identified by NSW Health as a location where a Covid-19 case has been. Bargo Hotel - 7pm to 9pm on Saturday 26 September Patrons or staff who were there for an hour or more during this time are close contacts and must get tested regardless of symptoms.... Patrons or staff who were there for less than one hour during this time are casual contacts and must get tested should they have had any symptoms at all. As the full 14 days since exposure has passed, contacts do not need to continue to isolate if a negative test result is received.
