18.01.2022 Like many events this year, the Cannes Film Festival won't be physically taking place but that didn't mean the Official Selections couldn't be announced last week. Films from the UK that scored a nod included LOVER'S ROCK and MANGROVE, both by Steve McQueen, LIMBO by Ben Sharrock and AMMONITE starring Kate Winslet and Saoirse Ronan. He was behind hits such as FAME, THE COMMITMENTS, EVITA and MIDNIGHT EXPRESS amongst many more. Parker was highly respected and described by Andrew Lloyd Webber as 'one of the few directors to truly understand musicals on screen'. Vale
