23.01.2022 Dear Members, In response to the reintroduction of Stage 3 restrictions by the Victorian Government, Doncaster Athletics Club has immediately suspended all club operations including all group training sessions at the Tom Kelly Athletics Track. Unfortunately, this means our gym will remain closed for a further six weeks. The track is still open to the public, however, Manningham Council has the discretion to close the track if gathering limits and social distancing restriction...s are not adhered to. If you are a registered DAC member and wish to use the track you will have to work alongside members of the public. The pavilion, equipment shed and lane restriction gates will remain locked. 13.01.2022 Let there be Light. The Committee of DAC are pleased to be able to announce that after many months of negotiations and significant support from DLAC, Doncaster Masters, Council, State and Federal Governments, our track lighting upgrade has passed its last hurdle. Council were able to attract a grant of $250,000 from Sport and Rec Victoria this week. Together with funds already committed to the project, the upgrade will go out to tender shortly, for completion over summer. ... We look forward to a "Bright" future as a club at the Tom Kelly Athletics Track.

07.01.2022 Dear members, We have been advised that the Manningham council has made the decision to lock the Tom Kelly Athletics track until further notice.This has been done to reduce the spread of COVID-19. Council has informed us that members of the public have been ignoring social distancing rules and have made the decision to close the track.This is consistent with Whitehorse council's decision to close Box Hill athletics track earlier this week.... While the closure is disappointing, it is also necessary to protect our members and the community from this virus.We will advise when Manningham council re-open the track. Regards, DAC committee

03.01.2022 The track is back!! Manningham Council have reopened the Tom Kelly track to the public! As per the state government announcement yesterday, the track is now open for private recreation. This means that groups of up to 10 people from 2 households are allowed to gather, no coaching is permitted yet, and under no circumstances are athletes allowed to access the clubhouse, pavilion, equipment sheds, long jump pits or the high jump covers. ... If you are unsure, be see the state roadmap or reach out to the club. Happy training everyone, and hopefully we’ll all be back training at the track together soon!

03.01.2022 RETURN TO TRAINING! Dear DAC Members, We are excited to announce that as of this coming Thursday 29th October we will be able to resume official club training at Tom Kelly Athletic Track.... There are still many rules that we must comply with to both keep ourselves and our loved ones safe and to comply with the many restrictions and guidelines required of our club in order to resume activities. This Thursday’s session will be an open session for all DAC registered athletes between 5-6:30pm with a return to squad training as of Cup Day Tuesday 3rd. You will have received an email from the club tonight with all the specific details on the clubs return. Please read and follow the various conditions outlined. Please contact the clubs safety officer Darryl Kilmartin directly via email [email protected] should you have any questions or didn’t receive the email. We look forward to getting back to the track.
