Using recycled and natural materials, the children can explore emergent mathematical and scientific concepts as well as build on motor skills and co-ordination while having fun! 23.01.2022 In Australia, 8 children are born with a heart defect each day. Four precious lives are lost each week. There is no known cure. HeartKids is a national charity dedicated to supporting children and families affected by congenital heart disease. The funding they receive goes towards supporting families but most importantly, the valuable research to find a much needed cure. 'Show your heart' is the national awareness and fundraising campaign for HeartKids which coincides with ...International Congenital Heart Disease Awareness Day (February 14). This is a charity close to our hearts, with congenital heart disease affecting families and children within the Explore and Develop North Ryde service. 14.01.2022 Guess who has been given the green light to return to schools? Healthy Harold that's who and he visited our service this week! Life Education and their mascot Healthy Harold provides the information, understanding, skills and strategies children require to make safe decisions about their own health and well-being. We discussed general hygiene and our hygiene helping us to keep COVID safe, nutrition and dental hygiene, staying safe at the beach and road safety all through fun ...stories, games and dances. I think our Healthy Harold representative was very surprised and impressed with our existing knowledge. We wowed her with facts that our bodies needed some Vitamin D from the sun, that Calcium was very important for our bone development and that our bodies needed sleep, rest and some calm breathing to be healthy. I think we have some Healthy Harold educators in the making! #HealthyHarold #LifeEducation

13.01.2022 We recognise that water safety and the ability to swim is an essential part of our cultural competence. Learning this in the early years supports children's physical health and wellbeing while also building their confidence and capabilities for independent swimming in later years. 06.01.2022 Happy Educators Day 2020 Explore & Develop North Ryde educators are committed to providing quality education and care to all children, families and the community embodying our centre vision to Innovate, Celebrate and Educate whilst leading with heart. This year has certainly been a challenging one and through it all our dedicated educators have adapted to the many changes that have occurred as a result. From ramping up our already exceeding hygiene practices within the serv...ice to creating and implementing a Learning from Home program for our families and children who were working from home, to welcoming and resettling our children when they returned to the service. What better way to show our appreciation for our essential early childhood educators than with a delicious lunch and homemade appreciation bookmark from the managers along with thank you hearts lovingly handmade from our Senior Preschool group the Wombats children. We have received so many messages of appreciation, beautiful flowers and yummy treats that have been passed on to the team. So to our passionate, inspiring and dedicated educators - thank you for creating such a nurturing, warm and inspiring community to be a part of. A big thankyou to our Approved Provider Libby Klingberg for hosting our beautiful lunch in appreciation of the team.
