16.01.2022 I was working for Toyota for five years. And when they made announcement, I just thought My God, what do I do now, you know, what can I do? I was worried about the payments, the money, you know, youve got two boys, youve got a mortgage. I need to learn a trade. Ive always wanted to learn something. Ive always wanted to do something, and I thought Ill take a punt.... I take pride in my work, and whatever it is, I really want to learn as quick as I can, but at the same time, making sure that I do learn the proper ways. There was challenges, and there was a few things that are sometimes a bit hard to speak up about, basically saying it out to somebody that, Hey, you know what, Im Muslim, I need to pray. Ive got Friday prayers as well, would it be OK to go for a couple of hours to pray, or do things like that? And I found, you know, support. 14.01.2022 I came by myself to Australia. I didnt know anybody. It was difficult finding something that I wanted. I was working as a waiter, customer service, working at night, which I didnt like it being in hospitality. The restaurant closed about April. I was out of work.... The age barrier, every interview that I went to, they said the qualification we have never seen anything like that, but we know we want long career. So I went to this job search program, how to create a CV and all that. It was a beautiful day and here I am. And this is the passion. This is what I like. I love it. 01.01.2022 I was born in Congo. I came to Australia in 2016. Finding work here can be a bit stressful. Youre applying for different jobs and get knocked down, and they say, No we dont have anything. And at the end of the day you feel discouraged. You dont know exactly whats going to happen tomorrow.... They told me that they are hiring so you can bring up your resumes for the bank. I started hesitating because I was like I dont have any experience, look at me Ive been having interviews every day and its not promising. The first couple of months was really challenging. I knew nothing about banking. Even though it was challenging I had really huge support. They supported me in every way and they make sure that Im on the level with other consultants. Where I am today, they invested in me a lot. Things can turn around in just a minute. Believe in yourself, dont hesitate to ask because thats where you get those opportunities.
