15.01.2022 Happy new year! Got back to work last week with reviewing the accounts of a business client and a meeting with a new client reviewing their last lodged tax return and advising them of some things to keep in mind for their next return. 09.01.2022 Tax scammers and identity thieves are always around nowadays however seem to be more prevalent and active at this time of year. Please be mindful of what information you are providing to who. If you are not confident the person is who they say they are take down some details and tell them you will get back to them. Always check official channels for contact details before relying on the details they have provided you. 09.01.2022 So last week I received one of those scam calls from the ATO informing that there is an issue with tax obligations and a warrant for my arrest may be issued if I dont rectify it promptly. I know my current tax situation and have no reason to be concerned so was comfortable to not continue any further with the phone call. Please be careful with your personal information. If you receive these calls please contact your tax agent or the ATO directly to confirm outstanding obligations.
