18.01.2022 I cut this rose bush about 4 weeks ago and it is already starting to shoot.
18.01.2022 This week there is no better time to prune the roses cut back your bushes and feed your lawn to be ready for spring. Roses are so simple really. Cut just above a bud facing the outside of the bush where possible. When the new growth is coming in a month or so keep some spray to kill off the aphids. And dont forget to spray under the leaf as well.
18.01.2022 Some people worry about their lawn going a bit yellow over winter especially if it is kikuyu grass. This is normal as it is caused by lack of direct sunlight or photosynthesis. The same as when you leave something on a lawn for a few days and take it away it has gone yellow. Winter to me is a great time to feed lawns. This one will be growing very nicely in a few months.

10.01.2022 Regular feeding with any kind of fertiliser is a big advantage with a green lawn. Try not to cut too short. Cut more often instead. I use dynamic lifter from Bunnings. Its relativly cheap and easy to spread and try not to be heavy handed.
06.01.2022 Not long now and the gardens will be full of colour again. Think of all this rain as a good thing long term.
04.01.2022 If you havent cut your roses back yet its not too late but dont leave it too much longer if you want a great display by Cup Day. Its really easy. Look for a bud and cut just above it. Once you have done it a few times you will see why you do it. Some aphids spray is good to have on hand.
