19.01.2022 This week is National Science Week 15th-23rd August 2020. Here at Montessori Beginnings we are inspired to explore and experiment with a range of materials and ingredients. Its a great way for children to hypothesis, research, communicate and express their thoughts and ideas.

18.01.2022 Our cycle 1A room made banana oat cookies. The children each took a turn to peel and mash the bananas and mix in the oats and sultanas. We had fun getting our hands messy squishing the mixture into balls. These cookies were a great healthy and yummy afternoon tea snack. What are some healthy afternoon treats that you make with your children?

14.01.2022 The children in Infant Community B participated in a science experiment where they observed the chemical reaction using milk, dishwashing liquid and food colouring dye for the experiment. When liquid dishwashing soap is added to milk with drops of food colouring on the surface, the soap reduces the surface tension of the milk and reacts with the fat. This interaction causes the fat particles in the milk to move and create swirls of colour.

14.01.2022 A part of the Montessori curriculum is to encourage the children to care for their environment, not only indoors but outdoors as well. Our children gain a great sense of satisfaction in watering the plants for themselves.
