22.01.2022 To those not aware, SPAA member Bob Wyllie recently passed away after battling illness for some time. Bob was a very experienced retired airline pilot who resided on the Island of Vanuatu. Bob was quite a character, and was well progressed with the building of a SeaRey Amphibian which he intended to operate around the beautiful island paradise he loved. The SPAA expresses its condolences to family and friends. RIP Bob

22.01.2022 The first Borey in Canada by Jean-Pierre Bonin: wonderful, professional photos of this beautiful photo artist create the closest sense of the beauty of a seapla...ne and its unity with nature. Enjoy the first of a series of photographs that Jean-Pierre took yesterday on the Ottawa River. In the following reports you will see stunning photos of the aircraft in the area of Embrun Airport. 21.01.2022 FOR BUREAUCRACYS SAKE: KNOW THINE ENEMY As an experienced seaplane pilot, warbird owner and adventure flight operator in Queensland, I am currently in the pro...cess of trying to obtain permits to operate my seaplane on the Pumicestone Passage, located on the Sunshine Coast. What at first appeared to be a relatively simple application process, has evolved into a glaring example of whats actually killing aviation across Australia. 14.01.2022 OPINION: RAAUS MTOW SHOULD INCREASE CASA and RAAus want us all to discuss the paper that proposes an increase to the MTOW limit of 600kg imposed on aircraft on... the RAAus register (and other ASAOs) to 760kg. So, Im going to give you my view. This is not necessarily the view of AOPA Australia and its likely not the view of the majority for RAAus members, who may stand to benefit from the increase. 09.01.2022 It's with a heavy heart that we inform you that Philip Wellesley Dulhunty, at 96 has passed. He was a founding member of the SPAA Association and kicked many goals for the Association. He had a passion for flying his little yellow Cessna floatplane, and Philip was also the man behind the restoration of the Catalina at Bankstown Airport.... On behalf of the Seaplane Pilots Association we extend our deepest sympathies to Philip's family. An amazing man and career. Rest in peace Phil.

09.01.2022 Stay safe over there Zeus!

08.01.2022 Congratulations Michael

08.01.2022 A bit of history in these times of confinement. On this day, 110 years ago, Henri Fabre made the worlds first successful seaplane flight on a Mediterranean sea... lagoon near Marseilles, France at the age of 27. His "Hydravion" prototype that he both invented and first flew has survived and is still visible at Le Bourget airport Air & Space museum near Paris. One of the great aviation pioneers of the 20th century, he died in 1984 aged 101. See more

06.01.2022 Weve had a few people contact us concerned about the low flying and noise on the Shoalhaven and Moruya Rivers. It aint us folks - these machines are Fireboss ...Water bombers...working hard on the fires....doing an awesome job like everyone at the NSW RFS. These incredible seaplanes do look as though theyre labouring to fly when they take off after the brief touch and goes on the river...but thats only because theyve just taken on board nearly three tonnes of water. Yes, nearly three tonnes... Thanks to all at the NSW RFS! (and thanks to Toby Whitelaw for the fabulous pics!)

04.01.2022 We love that Australia is host to the only Commercially operating Grumman Mallards in the world! 03.01.2022 For over 50 years Philip Dulhunty operated a variety of single engine float planes from this location at Greenwich, Sydney Harbour. The man and machine had forged legend status here within the local community. Sadly the vista will not be the same without the iconic presence of Dulhunty’s flying machine. I feel great privilege to have been involved with many of his adventures. Never a DUL moment!... RIP Philip.

03.01.2022 How many Mallards are enough?

02.01.2022 I was really apprehensive about HUET training just like anybody else. Being a below average swimmer, it gave me enough guidance to complete this wonderful life... saving skill and ways to exit out of a ditched aircraft in water. I learnt so much about the whole procedure and also about myself which will definitely come into play if and when needed! I like to thank the NETS team and TOLL for giving me this rare opportunity! I am proud I did it and enjoyed it thoroughly. -Vivek Govindareddy, (third from the left) Doctor with Newborn and Paediatric Emergency Transport Service (NETS) If youd like to find out more information on the courses available at ACE Training Centre visit: http://www.acetrainingcentre.com.au/

02.01.2022 Things have been unpredictable to say the least on the south coast this year.......and so this cloud over Gulaga today certainly made us look twice! Was awesome being back in the air this weekend though
