15.01.2022 Happy Birthday S303! S303 entered service with the Victorian railways on 29th of September 1957 after being built by Clyde-Engineering in Granville NSW. S classes have run on both Broad and standard gauge across the Victorian and interstate networks. S303 is currently on the broad gauge but will soon be transferred to our standard gauge fleet.... Do you have photos of S303? We would love to see them in the comments below!

11.01.2022 Happy 65th Birthday T320! On 2nd of August 1955, Class leader T320 entered service with the Victorian Railways. T320 is currently awaiting mechanical repairs and repaint that once completed will see it return to our trains in the future.



10.01.2022 Happy Birthday X31! Class leader X31 entered service for the Victorian Railways on 15th of August 1966 after being built at Clyde's plant in Granville, NSW. X31 spent its working life both on Broad and standard gauge working across the Victorian rail network aswell as venturing into NSW and South Australia.... These days X31 is used on our heritage trains aswell as available for hire for use on freight services. Photo by Max Thum

08.01.2022 Today big George (C501) was picked up by Rail Powers CLF2 from Seymour and will be heading to SCT in Laverton. These locos are on hire to SCT to run their services between Melbourne and Dooen (VIC) Did you spot big George today? We would love to see your photos in the comments below!

03.01.2022 A sneak peek of CLF1 undergoing respray at SRHC. The arrangement here is that we are painting CLF1 for SSR as part of the deal that saw SSR provide us a reconditioned turbo charger for C501.

"In magnificent final minutes of light, Seymour Railway Heritage Centre (SRHC) B74 and S303 cross the Maribynong River Viaduct at Keilor East with the "Spirit of Progress 80th Anniversary Tour". 01.01.2022 Happy birthday P22 and P23! P22 and P23 entered service for V/line on September 11th 1985 after being rebuilt from former "Flat top" T classes T328 (P22) and T326 (P23) at the Clyde engineering plant in Somerton Victoria. They are powered by a 1100hp V8 (8-645E), upgraded from the T classes 950hp V8 (8-567c). ... A smaller second diesel engine was added to supply head end power (HEP) throughout the train. P classes operated across the Victorian broad gauge network on both passenger and freight services P22 is now operational on our standard gauge heritage trains and P23 is nearing completion of its restoration.

01.01.2022 GM36 and visitor GM27 are together in the SRHC depot for attention. GM36 will eventually be repainted after some body work and SSRs GM27 is visiting for mechanical work. Keep an eye on our blog for more details!
