10.01.2022 Sutton Farm is very excited to announce the arrival of Alice Hurleys new dancing partner - the exceedingly gorgeous and talented, 16.2hh 9 year old Westphalian..., Bluefields Berlin. After an unfortunate paddock incident, resulting in an unscheduled castration, Berlin is returning to work under the guidance of our resident FEI rider. We are delighted to have him as part of the team and look forward to watching their journey. Alice will focus on building his fitness and training in coming months while he settles in. Thank you to Lys & Jj Fuchs of Bluefields Warmblood Stud for entrusting us with their beautiful boy.

04.01.2022 In the trans-Tasman battle that went on in the Bucas Horse Rugs Australia CCI4*-L the crowd were treated to a very tight and exciting contest with our top four ...only separated by a rail as we commenced the Show Jumping phase. Over a tough Brad Longhurst track only three combinations jumped clear and only two combinations, Shane Rose on board 'Easy Turn' and Clarke Jonhnstone with 'Balmoral Sensation' under the saddle went under time. In the reverse order draw, there was only one rail between our top four combinations, with Clarke the overnight leader, Shane in second place, Kiwi Madison Crowe on 'Waitangi Pinterest' in third and Aussie Amanda Ross on board 'Koko Popping Candy' in fourth spot. Amanda and 'Koko Poppig Candy jumped clear but they picked up a couple of time faults so they retained 4th place. Maddy and 'Waitangi Pinterest' also jumped clear but they too picked up time penalties but only .40 so they too retained their position and would finish third. Next was the turn of the Aussie Olympian. Could he go clear and under time to put pressure on the Kiwi Olympian - he sure could, and did ! The first round of 18 to not incur time penalties. Now it was up to Clarke and 'Ritchie'. It was a simple equation, one rail and the Aussie would be the Champion and unfortunately for the Kiwi Olympian, on his first visit to Wallaby Hill, it was not to end in a fairytale finish. When a rail hit the ground at the fifth the championship dream was gone but he still need to stay on the job, a second rail or time faults that everyone else except Shane had incurred would see him fall behind fellow Kiwi, Maddy Crowe, on the leaderboard. He dug deep, and came home without another rail and under time to secure second place. We hope he'll be back again next year for another go !!
