10.01.2022 A casual drape with NO IRONING, NO PREPARATION by yours truly I love a clean looking drape, perfectly setting in place. Who wouldn’t! There are lots of tutorials and videos out there about preparing your saree for a perfect fit.. Though I see this preparation as essential for bridal or celebration look, I think a casual flowy drape is the most suited. How many times have you missed the opportunity to wear a saree because you didn’t have enough prep time! Increasing num...ber of next gen women think that it is the only way to drape a saree. The beauty in a saree is it’s fluidity. You figure out the best way to drape it, complimenting YOU. GOD (and my family!) knows that I used to take hours to drape a saree.. Now, its a second nature to me. I just needed practice and most important, I let go of the "perfect look", "right" way image off my mind. Few trial after you would perfect draping a saree best suiting your silhouette and it would take you less than 5 mins to do that. So don't let the abundance of these "preparation" tutorials affect your image of draping a saree. It most certainly is an activity that you would eventually master :) ! Do give it a go I am wearing a 6 pleat look and it took me 5 mins (honestly!) to drape.
