PLEASE DON'T LET ME BE MISUNDERSTOOD A number of important traditional western medicine herbs are being under-utilised by herbalists out of fear or misunderstanding their powerful actions. St.John’s Wort because of concerns of drug interactions. Liquorice because of concerns of hypertension. Thuja & Phytolacca can trigger healing patterns that are often not completely understood. These are just a few western herbs that can have powerful healing results for patients if the practitioner understands how they work and uses them in appropriate doses. In this presentation, we will discuss these herbs, how they work, their medicinal uses, and predictable reactions to specific doses. The aim of this presentation is to resolve any fear or misunderstanding in their clinical use. To register for Root and Branch 2020 please visithttp://rootandbranch.com.au

Part 2 Tinctures by Percolation Percolation first appeared as a method of extracting herbs in the U.S. pharmacopeias in the 1840’s. It is a comparatively rapid, efficient and cost effective method for making high quality herbal tinctures. In this class you will learn which herbs are suitable for extraction by percolation, how to prepare the herbs and then participate in the process of packing percolators for extraction. The resulting tincture will be shared among participants at the end of the process.
