20.01.2022 Alex Dalmeida, what a legend! Got short term employment in Gladstone and as a dedicated Muay Thai practitioner didn't want to stop his training. Shout out to Booma Thai for helping forge him into the humble, focused, hard working thai fighter he is. Pleasure to have him in the gym. Welcome back anytime mate.

15.01.2022 Who Is Robbie Somerfield? Robbie is fighting on our show in Mackay 28 November Robbie came to train with me about 3 years ago, and he certainly didn't get addicted immediately, he floated in and out for about a year not really committing. Then in early 2019 he started to be much more CONSISTENT with his training, training 5+ classes every week for almost the entire year. ... At the end of 2019 Robbie stepped up on short notice (10 days) for his first ever fight, on the same card as his coach, against what he thought was another fighter 1-0 @ 73kg. (not his ideal weight) It was a really tough match for Robbie, and after the fight talking with his opponent we found out he'd actually had 5 fights but he didn't count his other fights as they were with head gear.... Regardless of the outcome, Robbie was hooked from then on, determined to prepare properly and make huge improvements for his next one. AND DID HE EVER! Feb 2019 Robbie got matched again this time @ 70kg against a 1-0 fighter, Robbie fought fantastically for his experience level and got the win - in what i would consider was a contender for "FIGHT OF THE NIGHT" Covid slowed things down for everyone, but he's back again for the triolgy in his Thai fight Career. Wish him well guys, and come cheer him on if you can! Lets get it Robbie!

06.01.2022 Meet our fighters! Nick Smith has been with us for a year and so quickly stepped up to our fighters levels. He is also our fastest runner and we are all trying to catch up to his records We asked Nick a few questions. Let's see what he has to say...... What’s your favourite thing about Muay Thai .NS: I love the total responsibility of Muay Thai. There are no excuses that will stop a punch in the face, it forces me to be better. Where is Muay Thai taking you .NS: I want to compete regularly over the next few years at least and will be training for most of my life. Which one of Methodical time table is your favourite class .NS: I enjoy Intermediate classes the most, going into the subtle details that combine to make big impacts is the most interesting to me currently. What advice would you give to those who are starting now NS: Hold yourself accountable. Long term consistency and focussed effort will get you anywhere you want. 05.01.2022 Happy Fight Week! This is the last stretch for these guys, our fight team for the Power-House Fight Series of number 5 which is happening in Mackay 28th November. The consistency, dedication and passion they have invested into their training are an example to the young members of our club, as well as to any one aspiring to represent Methodical Muay Thai as a fighter.... The Power-House Fight Series is a special event for our club as it will be the first show we’ve nominated to since we’ve opened our doors. We have well over 50 people driving 6 hours in and 6 hours back to show their support and cheer on our hard workers. As we get to witness their skills be put to the test that night, we also acknowledge that regardless of the outcome, anyone that makes the commitment to step in that ring is worthy of respect and appreciation. .
